Boutiques in Southall

Hi everyone,

I have been to both Mongas and Traditions in Southall and so far am more in favour of Traditions. I liked more of the designs and the girl was really helpful. I was a bit put off in Mongas because it was really crammed and there were girls trying lenghas and saris on all in full view of everyone - although they also had some good stuff.

Are there any other good places for lenghas in Southall?

I will be checking out Panache boutique in Birmingham because I’ve heard they are supposed to be quite good. In Fabeha in Luton they said they can design outfits or have ready made ones and they can have stuff made to measure.

Has anyone had any experiences with any of these places that they can share? Good or bad? I still have plenty of time to shop around so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there
Have u been to Daminis in Southhall???- Wembly is also good for apne designer clothes...

Re: Boutiques in Southall

Hi poppies, Daminis in Southall closed down a while ago and they have opened up a shop called Simlas.
SRM87 you can try the Damini's in Green Street.
Also in Southall have you tried any of the other shops such as Omega and Sequinze.
I agree with you about Mongas....everyone keeps on trying their bridal wear and their lehngas have started to look worn out/used. But they do have some nice bridal wear, you could ask them if they can take orders for bridal wear because I think they do.

Hi Bubblegum!!! Wow thanks for that!! Thats what u get for being out of the Uk for over 4 years!!!!!Birmingham is also a good place to shop for wedding lenghas and stuff.. best of luck.....

Re: Boutiques in Southall

Your welcome poppies! Lucky you for being in the UAE!

Re: Boutiques in Southall

In Birmingham try Khushboo's by Chand on Ladypool Rd. He does orders and provides very good service. Has a good variety..

Re: Boutiques in Southall

i know in monga they can make u an outfit of ur choice

my friends cousin bought both of her weddin outfits frm ther and she loved em....thy hav several fitting aswell before the actual outfit is given

i think i went to tradditions recently and i saw this amazin red lengha but it was £4400!!!! too expensive 4 me

Re: Boutiques in Southall

Try Santoshi in Southall, they have some amazing stuff, ad mentioned above Sequnze is also good. But my absolute favourite is Raishma in Green Street who offer a completly bespoke service. Green St also have a fe good shops.

Re: Boutiques in Southall

I bought my lengha from Mongas...the plan is to go really early and then u can spend as much time as u want...i chose a magenta coloured lengha which they custom made for me in maroon and it was beautiful...it was expensive...but well worth it ;)

Re: Boutiques in Southall

I was sure that I didnt miss Damini's when I was in Southall - i saw it when I went to Green Street but I didnt go there.

Mongas had some good designs but i thought they were quite expensive whereas in traditions they had some which seemed good value. They said that they can custom make and everything.

So far I do prefer traditions. I went into some other places but cant remember the names. I walked into one looked at the lengha in the middle and walked back out - £5500!!! There is no way i would consider getting parents or in-laws to pay that amount of money for outfit to wear for one day only!

Anyone know of the service by Fabeha in Luton or Panache in Birmingham. I'm not so sure on panache any more - i sent an email asking for details on lenghas and i got a reply saying that they would send it to me. I never heard any more. I then sent a couple of emails and still havent heard back!

Re: Boutiques in Southall

Traditions had some reductions on lenghas... when's the best sort of time to order lenghas... do they become more expensive in what's deemed to be "wedding seasons"?

I bought my wedding lengha from Mongas last year and was very happy with it. It took 8 weeks to come and the work was amazing xx
