So, Finally I have managed to shortlist the drug store foundation I want to buy. But am now stuck between the two. I cant seem to decide which one to go for.
Has anyone used both these products? please can you share your experience and help me decide which one to go for..
Re: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation v/s Revlon Photoready foundation
i've been using bourjois healthy mix (the gel one, i originally was planning to purchase the non-gel one but it was discontinued here) in shade 53 since june. i wear it to work and for evening/special occasions so it's definitely buildable. If I build it up, it hides my acne spots very nicely. As a daytime foundation, it's very lightweight.. it hardly feels like im wearing anything. It doesn't really oxidize into a darker shade. I like that the colour is neutral - not too pink and not too yellow. The finish is matte but not too matte (i think the specific term is demi-matte?) It also smells nice! Price is a bit steep for drugstore, but in my opinion it is worth it. I would highly recommend it!
p.s. haven't used revlon photo ready so i cant comment there!
Revlon photo ready has a very strong smell to it. Plus I find it a little drying even with a moisturiser or primer on. I prefer revlon colorstay for more coverage on occasions.
The Bourjois healthy mix is a great foundation for daily use..provides low-medium coverage. My skin is not very problematic so works really well without anything else (concealer, setting powder etc). I work it into my skin with fingers and its amazingly blend able.
Re: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation v/s Revlon Photoready foundation
Thanks Pink and Marigold, this helps alot .. The only thing i dont like about colorstay foundation is that it doesnt have a pump on it , i find it difficult to take out the product from the bottle .. also does it not dry the foundation in the bottle quicker then it would generally with other foundations that do have the pump?
Re: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation v/s Revlon Photoready foundation
i dont think the pump has anything to do with how quickly the foundation dries. it mostly depends on the formulation. but having a pump is definitely a plus.. its more sanitary
Yeah that's true!! It dries quickly. But its definitely not the bottle. As I ve been using MAC studio fix fluid which doesn't come in a pump bottle and doesn't dry as fast as revlon colorstay one. So its definitely the formula not the bottle. But I won't use colorstay as a daily wear foundation as its a bit heavy for that in my opinion.
Re: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation v/s Revlon Photoready foundation
I didn't like bourjois healthy mix on my oily skin. It doesn't photograph nice either. What is your skin type?
I liked the way revlons photo ready came out in pictures, but I haven't used it for anything else other than a night time event.
I guess bourjois healthy mix is good for day time wear.m
Re: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation v/s Revlon Photoready foundation
Healthy mix is awesome!! it has an amazing formulation and seamlessly blends into my skin and gives a velvety finish. It's not available in the usa so i got it on my last trip to pakistan from HKB. The bourgious family also owns Chanel makeup therefore their foundations are comparable to chanel ones.
