One bouncer an over will be allowed in one-day cricket from September 1, an International Cricket Council committee said on Friday.
At present any delivery bouncing more than shoulder high is designated as a no-ball, with one run and an extra delivery given to the batting side.
A report from the Cricket Committee-Playing (CC-P) said bonus points for tournaments and series involving three or more teams would also be introduced.
Winning teams will be awarded four points, with a tie or no result counting for two points. A single bonus point will be available to the winning side based on a detailed statistical formula.
``The overall view of CC-P was that one-day matches would benefit from a series of new initiatives aimed at avoiding the predictability apparent in many games,‘’ the report said.
