Would any of you ever use botox when you’re older?
I know obviously cosmetic surgery is prohibited but I know a few people who use botox and it does make them look younger and hides the frown line. I know it’s easy for some of us to say we’re not bothered cos we’re young/bootiful/etc but we do become more self conscious as we get older - of the lines, wrinkles, fat rolls etc.
So would anyone consider it? Or are you happy to grow old and comfy with your laughter lines?
no i m against this when i l b nani dadi i want 2 look nani dadi not a young women yeah but a modern nanai dadi :) from heart not from physical apperance :)
I dont think I'll get old enough to worry about Botox or any other artificail beauty stuff... besides I never cared much how I appear so long as I'm alive, I'm sure I will look a lot better in the next life.
If it makes me look good and happy, why not. We wouldn't bash someone for wanting to get facials now would we.
PS, botox and cosmetic surgery....none of it can make a 60 year old look like a 20 year old...(and those who have tried look horrific doing so) but rather, would make them look more around 40-45...

I do my nails, get highlights in hair, wear make-up, thread eyebrows etc.... #1 reason for me to do those things is b/c it makes me feel good about myself and I can afford it. There are other things I'm doing right now to delay/minimize wrinkles as long as possible (ie: Retin-A, AHAs etc). But 20-30 years from now....when I'm in my 50's/60's.....if I feel botox is needed to make me look in a way that will make me happier....I see nothing wrong with it.
I'm not saying that you would end up looking like a teen when you're a pensioner's age. Im just saying, you can tell when someone has taken good care of them selves - yes this comes from good diet, exercise etc etc, but some people need a helping hand. Some of our women look twice their age cos they dont look after themselves and they are aged by stress etc etc.
That’s so true. I know women who are barely 30 and they really look 10-15 years older…not to derail the thread but the sad thing is, that they’re usually like that because they spend so much time looking after their kids and spouses and in laws and homes…think of self maintenance as being selfish and the martyr syndrome…and then men have the nerve to complain how our women are unattractive.
No, there are mixed views, many scholars believe reversible cosmetic surgery is ok, others say it's ok if it's causing the person emotional/psychological stress or if the person looks 'abnormal' (obviously subjective) or has a deformity.. The references are on here if anyone wants to do a search.. Again it's been mentioned on here before that Iran is the nose job capital of the world..
99% of my friends have botox (all in early to late twenties) but it's one of the few things I'd never consider.. Just don't think they look better after having had it done regularly and on a long-term basis. it might stop the wrinkles but too much botox can make you look a bit odd and hard-faced.. Even Aishwarya and Katrina Kaif look worse after it imo.. A lot of desi women have skin that doesn't age as fast as white women anyway, I think many have faces that look younger.. Black women also tend to age a lot better (Stacey Dash is in her forties but looks twenties).. 'Enhancements' can and do make a person look better when done by someone skilled (and with a good eye) or in moderation but that's where most ppl go wrong.. (Btw isn't this Fashion + Beauty?)
^Wow your friends are only in their late twenties and do botox? Are there some desis among them? Most people don't even have wrinkles at that age.
I'm leaning more towards a no. I just don't like the idea of it. And I haven't really seen many botoxed celebrities that look good. Even a little bit seems to throw something off in their face. I prefer a more natural regime to maintain looks....healthy eating, exercise, chemical peels and micro, etc.
^Some are younger.. 22/23.. it’s crazy.. they’re white tho (I live in an area that’s well known for ppl being ‘plastic’).. I know one or two desi girls who do it but they’re older.. Honestly haven’t seen one single person who does it regularly and looks better for it.. If I had I’d be tempted to try (when I get over my fear of needles :D).. I suppose cos it’s a long-term ongoing thing and often becomes an addiction.. I’d hate to end up looking waxy and hard (rather have the wrinkles when I’m older thanks) or with the crazy brow that Kylie and Aishwarya both have tho Ash’s face looks a lot better in her very recent pics, prob took a break from the botox whilst preggo.. Am sure there will be some alternative in the not so distant future that will delay or stop wrinkles without looking so severe as a side-effect.. (*Edit - just remembered there already is.. a deep chemical peel .. tho it has its own pros and cons..)
I dont know any young people who've done it, but i know a few 'aunty' types with kids who do it. One of them has 'kitty' type botox parties where she invites her friends over, and a certified doctor and nurse to give people who want it a botox shot.
I think its a little bit scary cos if you've done it once then you'll want to 'top up' or just refresh it after a while. Plus i guess some people look better as they age...
Those botox/filler parties scare me.. Some girls might feel more comfortable having their friends there and maybe a drink or two (is that really the best idea lol) but I'd be worried I might be pushed to do something I don't really want or need there and then because of the atmosphere..

Wow, that's kinda creepy. It conjures up in my mind the image of Stepford Wives lounging on the sofas....a stemmed glass of Spraaaite on the rocks dangling from one bejweled hand.....while a doctor goes around from one to another with a syringe in hand.
