Both Teeka and Jhoomer?

I have quite a small forehead so I was wondering whether both a teeka and a jhoomer will look OTT on me for my wedding. The teeka itself is quite big, it’s a round one and about 2 inches in diameter. The question is whether I should get a coordinating jhoomer made with it or just forgo it and wear only the teeka? Or should I just return the teeka and make a smaller one? I guess I could return it, but the one I have is soo pretty, I don’t want to part with it! :frowning:

I don't think it will look over the top, but if you don't think you will wear a jhoomer again, maybe consider wearing an heirloom one, if it is available.

Thanks Sahar, wearing an heirloom jhoomer is a good idea. Mum didn’t wear a jhoomer during her wedding so I’ll have to ask my khalas and phuppos and see if there is one I can use!
for reference, my teeka is very similar to the one in the link below. My teeka is the same shape and approx the same size and made with nauratan stones. Even the design inside the pendant (circle) is very similar. However, mine doesn’t have the flower bud type thing that’s on top of the pendant (sandwiched between the pendant and the strand) and the pearls drops are made with the the tiny, teeny pearls not the big ones that are featured here. So it’s similar to this, but a bit smaller!

I think Jhoomar looks lovely on the brides. Have the parlor take care of the placement to make it look good on you. If you are not going to use it again, may be get an artificial gold plated one similar in design of your teeka.

There is another way. If u can afford to have dupatta placed thora peechay say. As in beyond the crown point. Den u can have a jhoomar settled on the hair in a very artistic way... i will search pics to explain further...

not sure how it will look on a small forehead but if you really wanna go with it try with the idea I Queue mentioned

If your tikka is the same size as the one you posted then I think you can easily wear a jhoomar with it, and it won't look OTT.

I hv seen some not wearing tikka they rather wear jhomar on the side:)with looks good..

Thanks, I Queue, that seems like a good option but I’m having a hard time trying to visualize it. Post some pics please if you have any!

I’m thinking of having the tika placed slightly higher than usual so that a part of it is above my hairline. That way it wont cover up the entirety of my tiny forehead. Something like this:

My eldest sister was told that her face was too small for both, but her MUA told her she could manage both, it's just in the way that it's pinned/adjusted, and I think it looked fine.

Make sure that the tikka and the jhoomar are not too close together that they overlap or anything, and if you go to buy a jhoomar, maybe take the tikka with you to see what they both look like?

The second two are a little big, but you see how they are placed in the hair, the first one looks almost more like a hair clip

ooh.That teeka in the pic is sooo lovely, if yours is like it then I also think a jhoomer styled higher up on the side will not look OTT at all, even if your face is small. A friend of mine got married a few months ago (sorry cnt put up her pic) everyone always said she had a small face but she wore them both so well, it depends on your hair style, n how its set n the dupatta n all.

im wearing a kundan set for my wedding day including tikka and jhoomer. my idea was to wear the jhumar on shaadi as its like a once in a lifetime opportunity and to wear a simple set with just tikka on my walima set. my mother in law doesnt knw much about fashion etc and wants me to look like a proper bride even on walima as all her guests gonna see me. what shud i do?? wear jhumar on both days? isnt that a bit OTT??
