What is the best strategy to deal with your manager who starts an ego cold war with you. If you respond back to them , it can back fire . If you stay quiet you might get consumed and in essence are putting your job at risk.
Any ideas?

My childhood principle works most of the time.
If some one unreasonable beyond proportions, try hard to stay clear and let him be.
Because sooner or later they are going to get into trouble and have correct them selves.
Its like a person jumping off his balcony dont confront and try to catch him, stay out of the way.
Religiously, when jahiloon say bad stuff you say things of peace to them.
(this would be hardest thing you would do in your life, I think)
I think the idea here is, they have a problem, you sort of heal it with your peace.
And don't rapture it more with confronting it.

I really like Monk's advice here! Perhaps also think about changing boss.

I guess changing boss isnt an option that is lucrative in given situation unless something big happens that leads to job change. I am more or less looking for ideas on how different people may tackle such boss / manager personalities..
