In my previous job, my boss was really cool. he listened to my needs and really motivated me by encouraging me to do what I meant was good for the company. I quit that job cuz the job content wasnt challenging and developing me after I had been there for some years.
When I got this new job, I was so exited. The job content was really really interesting and I had good chemistry with my new boss. Just a few days before I started it was decided from top management to make some changes in the organization and I got another boss than the one who hired me.
This new person is really unproffessional. This is his first manager job. he lacks experience when it comes to leadership. his people skills have a huge potential for development like his communication skilss.
The whole team has been his colleagues (not me) and they are finding it difficult to cope with this foreigner getting ahead and being their manager.
My boss is being too bossy with me. He trying to impose things on me that are not compliant with the company policy and he keeps making me feel bad by doing or saying something that demotivates me a lot.
I have started giving him feedback on these issues and he still does the same. he has a very top-down approach and I am really annoyed by having him as my boss.
My challenge is that I cant switch to another job at this time so I have to cope with him for a while before I can move on or perhaps take a long maternity leave when I get pregnant.
What is your experience with bosses? and how do you cope with such top-down bossy types?
