ARGH!! I hate that anally retentive brown nosing s.o.b.!
I swear sometimes these guys don’t let you be!!

Friggin’ Turd!

Ok, so here is how it is; I decide not to go to work one day just to finish my school work and the idiot head strung on authority decides to call me and tell me why am I not in. I usually leave messages on who I report to and this guy isn’t even the boss of me or our department decides to call me and give me his sh*t for brains speech about being on time and calling in! So I calmly explain to him why I cannot make it and have left messages yet he is persistant saying “sooooo you’ll be in the next hour right”, I just said “I’ll try and i dunno if i’m comin’ in morrow” and hung up on him.

It pissed me off so much that I didn’t go to work on the very week cuz if i did i knew i wouldn’t be able to keep my cool. Oh get this! He calls my cell and leaves a message “uhhh syed, where are you, you know i’m calling from the place you work, call me back in the next 15-20 minutes” i hear this message on the subway and am MAJORLY TICKED and never called him back.

The next day he calls me again at 12 noon when I’m peacefully having my brunch “where were you on so and so day” I go to him “I TOLD YOU!, anyways I’m busy right now I’ll come in and talk to YOU”. He goes, “uhh, yeah ok because I have to report this to your boss”, i replied “yeah, my boss! you said it yourself! What are you a selective listener! Who the hell are you!”
He goes “I’m supervising your shifts”
I replied “Since WHEN! Your not the supervisor of my shifts”
He says “ok I’ll see you today”
So I drop by work and he’s no where to be found that friggin’ s.o.b. I was on a vendetta to kill this homo!

Then I find my boss, turns out these guys are buddies that go way back. You’d figure I’m up to my boots on this eh? Nah, I blew up on his face when he tried taking his side. phew I was soooooo ready to quit man. They are short staffed already. Lucky that guy wasn’t there or I would have set him straight like I did the ol’ human resources lady. But you know whats funny, in the end I got my way

Seriously, I am not going to sit there and listen to someones b.s. about me not doing my job right when i have followed protocol. Buracracy in organizations and political/cultural environment is getting worse. These bosses need to get off their high horses and taste the dirt.

Ok, thats a load off my chest. I’ll share some other experiences with dominating bosses later.

Anyone of you have this kinda stuff goin on?

Don’t tell me you’re another boss in the making (I hope not) who’s gonna dictate people cuz if you are there will be more people like me pissin’ y’all off.

There is only one boss that I had who treated us as his equal. He said “I’m here to guide u and not taunt you for the mistakes you did but help you better yourself”.

Coco - I can relate to what you must have gone through and I think you did the right thing to take a stand and not let anyone push you around

However, I must say that “you are not my boss” does not come out too pleasant to a superior’s ear. I have nailed a person on the ground for saying that to me, although I later regreted doing that and have found more control and patience within myself. You and him were both lucky since that person wasn’t there, or else I bet things could have gotten pritty ugly.

I think ignoring his messages and calls would have been a good thing to do in this case, since I suppose you had already informed your supervisor about your absense. And I think if he was cool with that, then there wasn’t anything that person could do that you had to worry about.

If you get a chance, I’d love to know the incident with that “ol’ human resources lady”

Dear Angry Coco, when you work for someone, they pay you. I would like to know where do you work. Its just your decision to go to work or not? I mean you cant just decide suddenly that you are going to skip work just because you need to. Its not professional. May be you are at a place where its just your decision and you dont need to consult other people. This is the impression I got.

Well it was the first week of training and Tena the old hag aka HR lady was bossin’ around people in the training room and I happened to be one of them. The first 3 days of training I sat quietly but come the fourth day oh man I just couldn’t sit quietly when she was on the topic of Office ethics and discrimination. Thats where I got her by saying ‘then why do you belittle all the trainees here like they are nothing’. She goes to me, ‘can I speak to you outside later’. But me being the stubborn mule took it in there and then. Turns out after the news spread at work, she got transfered to another branch and replaced with a much pleasant trainer.
