Absolutely. I for certain think that way. Women should be chained next to the kitchen. Their main job isto cook food, pop out kids at a pre-defined interval, make their husbands happy by kissing their feet and making sure that the husbands family is well taken care off.
If you dont like that, educate yourself and become a working woman. Just because you were born and raised in a foreign land doesnt mean that the whole pakistan should spin around you. Welcome to our culture, now put up or shut up. :)

I know that this is what our culture demands verizon, u dont have to get rude. By the way, im not even talking about myself.
... but why are some women treated like servants (like a friend of mine). She is bossed around and humilated if she doesnt do something right..... she even got hit once coz she 4got to do something that her saas told her 2 do. Her husband told her that he just married her 4 the sake of pleasure and being treated like a king........ and ofcourse 2 procreate. She has no privacy, no fun in her life and shes not happy :p

As far as im concerned...... i love 2 take care of my hubby......... he even helps me with the chores when he has time :)

BV: I am not being rude. Just stating what is expected of women back home. These are major issues that surround women and women need to step up and take control. Dont let the males in a male dominated country like pakistan boss women around. But when women themselves dont stand up and the main goal in their lives is to get married so they can get on with their lives (meaning cook for their in-laws and take care of their husbands), it sure doesnt look promising. I mean I know a few guppans who were born in USA and their main goal is to not pursue a good education or make something out of their lives but get married and that too with what their parents pick. They are currently in school but only to fulfill a promise that they will get college education. These are not healthy signs.
I remember you as well, dying to get married (and I know you are very happy and content). Now I see you post about not wanting to take care of your in-laws. The desi women that grow up outside Pakistan are really not fit to live in Pakistan. Unless ofcourse they move back at a young age. But dont expect to fit right in at age 19 or 21. It takes time.
I am sure the friend that you are weeping over is just fine and happy at getting the crap beat out of her, for not putting enough salt in the daal.
