Re: Books on Maqtal of Kerbala

Don’t know many books on Maqtal except Maqtal Ibn e Mikhnaf (which is most popular book on the subject)… I’m going through these two books related to Karbala nowadays:

The Women of Karbala: Ritual Performance and Symbolic Discourses in Modern Shi’i Islam | Kamran Scot Aghaie | digital library BookOS

Reliving Karbala: Martyrdom in South Asian Memory | Syed Akbar Hyder | digital library BookOS

Some discussion on people who wrote Maqatil:

Re: Books on Maqtal of Kerbala

I just finished Maqtal by Abi Mikhnaf. It has details about events leading to Kerbala. It talks at length about Muslim bin Aqeel’s ordeal in Kufa and how people left him alone.

I will comment on it a bit more later.
