Books about Islam

Salaam everyone

I need to read a good book about Islam which can help me in building my faith. I am a muslim, but I have so many questions that I need reliable answers for from a reliable source.

Or maybe if anyone can suggest a good understandable translation (in English) of the Quran. I will appreciate your help. Thanks.

Re: Books about Islam

One book or one translation cannot provide answers to all the questions. You might need a separate book recommendation based on the area and nature of your questions.

"Book of certainty".

Re: Books about Islam

What are your Questions ..??

Ask em here .. We do have a few eg LKK and psyah who have a very reliable and wise understanding ..and i can also have a bash at em .. and inshaAllah we ll also give VALID Authentic references to clear your doubts..and when some questions are answered by the wise ...the references will be very helpful for you ..i.e. the books

or let us know in which particular department you have questions about .. about fiqh..hadith .. spirituality ..grammer .. or general maslay masail ???

Re: Books about Islam

I absolutely agree with you, one book is not enough. But I just need somewhere to start, so I am using this opportunity to do so.
The kind of questions I am talking about are just like basic questions that a non-muslim might ask a muslim. Why we don't drink, don't eat non-halal food, but also something that goes a little deeper, like why we are so sure about the existens of Allah. I need some arguments.
..don't know if this was clarifying enough?

And I know I double posted, I'm new at this.. bear with me :)

Okay, thanks

Re: Books about Islam

Well I actually do have one particular question. I was watching this Zakir Naik video, where he talks about how to convince an ateist that Allah exists. He mentions that the big bang is already mentioned in the Quran as well as some other things like how the light of the moon is not it’s own light, but a reflection of the sunlight. All this is mentioned in the Quran like 1400 years ago. But how come this has not been revealed earlier if it’s mentioned in Quran? Why did we wait for it to be discovered by some western scientists, when we already knew all this from the Quran?

The video I am talking about is this one:

But other than that, the type of questions I’m talking about, I wrote them in a reply to “Mirch”.

Re: Books about Islam

Four questions so far .
1.Why don't we drink alcohol ?
2,Why don't we eat non halal food ?
3.How are we so sure about existence of Allah ?
4,If Big bang and The fact that moon reflects are mentions in Quran then why did Muslim wait for Western Scientists to discover that and now we are proving that Quran already mentioned it .

I will let others take a shot at them and if need be I will contribute too.
