**I think out of all the novel based movies i've seen .......
Jason Bourne is one ... but they changed the story completely ........
Twilight is also there .... as i guess they didn't changed the story much .......
Harry Potter n all the dan brown's novel based movies are surely not there
**
hahah, yes I think a couple of the series is written by Michael Crichton. The books are more detailed in some places but I think the first Jurassic Park was the best.
There was an old pakistani movie "Muth'tee bhar Chawal" based on the novel by Rajinder Singh Bedi. Novel's name was 'Eik Chadar Mailee See". Later on indians made a movie on that with the same title as of novel.

My favorite is "Pride & Prejudice" which was masterly turned into a classic movie by A&E and BBC combined production... though there are older adaptaions too..
Usually, movies dont do justice to books - with one exception I have seen , movie Dr Zhivago was better than the book!
angels and demons movie is a good movie but missed some very key elements of the book
i.e. the development of the mysterious assassin and making the reader wonder about who was behind the killings and why the assassin a muslim was doing it..
or the role of CERN, the book makes the reader think thet modern day CERN is the stronghold of the illuminati.
or the part about the camerlango being the son of the pope.
i enjoyed the movie but really thought it missed some major points that made the book so much more engaging
