My Feudal Lord by Tehmina Durrani
Has anyone had the chance to grab it? I picked it up while in Dubai.
Although my family doubts the authencity of the events outlined in the book, the story is definately gripping. Written by the ex-wife of Mustafa Khar and now wife of Shahbaz Sherriff, the books gives you an intimate look into the lives of political wives.
I would recommend it to anyone who wonders how the dirty politics of Pakistan work.

She got married with Mian Shahbaz sharif , couple of months ago, And this book came out like 4-5 years ago....

But I believe they were still dating shating and he was the financing behind the book..
I doubt anyone else would be willing to finance an anti Khar book..

I read it.. Long ago.. Its Interesting :)
Although I wont agree to everything in it.. coz.. its one sided story.. Pata naheN Khud How she was... who knows :)

yeah worth a read. i think she makes it very apparent that its her version of events, it certainly was a shocker when i read it.

It’s not like a movie, you don’t need money to write a book.
You just need a publisher who thinks they can turn a profit from it.
I see no reason to doubt what she says, other than her being biased against him for whatever reason and so exaggerating details.

I read that book about 4 years ago. It gave me an insight into Pakistan politics.
I really hated that Khar charactor.

Maddy, I think the problem was that she couldnt find a publisher. I guess I should rephrase and say that the Mians were her support.

I think you'd be surprised to know how much has changed in her life since the book...besides her marriage with her "Industrial Lord".
Anyway minus some bits the book is fairly accurate..mind you admitting to adultery is no achievement..Amina Haq is the daughter of Sherry Rehman 9I think) PPP MNA nowadays and one of the few good journalists in Pakistan

Zakk what changed in her life? She's in London now? That was a big risk she took with writing it. Has she made a big profit from the book?

I read this book some time ago. its a good book. but it just makes you wanna scream at her and say WHY DO YOU GO BACK FOR MORE YOU SILLY COW!!

Saimanyc: ActuallY i believe Ms Durrani (or is that Mrs Sharif?) believes she was robbed of quite a bit of money by the people who helped her get it published in Pakistan (Najam Sethi and co...the people who publish the Friday Times and run the Daily Times) ..conversely people on Sethis newspapers say that Durrani didn't even write the book she paid someone else to ghost write it...
As far as personal danger is concerned..she made peace with her family after the book..considering how she spoke of them in the book ..I find that aan unusual turn of events

My abu enjoyed readin it. I should borrow it from him if he is willin to part with it. According to him, it may be exaggerated a bit.

I've read it....n all I thought after reading was, I just wasted my time
Its seems a lot exaggerated ....n just made me sick of politics ....!!!
I just cn't trust anybody in politics ...specially in Pak,...be it Tehmina or Khar

I read it few years ago . nice read and an eye-opener :k:..Khar was evil but Tahmina bhi kam nahiN thee as she herself mentioned having sex with Khar while she was still married with anees (her x hub) khair its intressting book if you want to learn about feudal lords in pakistan.
she is married with shabaz shareef now , hmm I didnt know that.
