I stumbled upon this book written by Joel Richardson that does an exhaustive comparison of the Christian beliefs about the antichrist and Muslims belief of their messiah called Al-Mahdi. The similarities are very close and the book offers a strong case that Islam is potentially the one world religion spoken of in Daniel & Revelations. I highly recommend that you read this book if you are at all interested in this type of subject matter (or even if you are not). You can read it for free online if you don’t want to buy it at

Many of you may have noticed that Al-Mahdi is whom Iran’s president Ahmadinejad has been speaking of lately. His belief is that he must bring about worldwide destruction & chaos in order to cause the Al-Mahdi (the hidden Imman) to return out of hiding and take his place as the head of the Islamic Caliphate (Islamic papacy previously abolished in 1924).
“Antichrist Islam’s Awaited Messiah: A fascinating study and comparison of the end-time beliefs of the World’s two largest religions. Through this groundbreaking examination of both Islamic and biblical prophecy, a frightening picture of a very possible future emerges. Discover the startling similarities between the biblical Antichrist and Islam’s Messiah figure known as Imam al-Mahdi. A must read for anyone who wishes to better understand Islam, Bible prophecy or the spiritual factors and the underlying forces driving the present early stages of a final clash of ideologies and civilizations.”

Hmmm… Let me quote a few words of caution by Paul Johnson from his book A History Of The Jews:
[quote]
Historians should beware of seeking providential patterns in events. They are all too easily found, for we are credulous creatures, born to believe, and equipped with powerful imaginations which readily produce and rearrange data to suit any transcendental scheme.

Re: Book: Antichrist - Islam's Awaited Messiah
nonsense....
nothing more than crap this book....
Re: Book: Antichrist - Islam's Awaited Messiah
^have you read the book?
Re: Book: Antichrist - Islam's Awaited Messiah
i read the online book, a few chapters, and they r full of bias and non-sense....
a classic example of cout-of -context quoting, misreporting and misrepresentation of facts to prove one's own idea....
and i really dont see what u can like in a book where the mahdi is equated to dajjal and where Muhammad (saw) is accused of being a liar and a fraud....
Re: Book: Antichrist - Islam's Awaited Messiah
^Ok jazakAllah for the information.......I think I dont need to read that book then.
Re: Book: Antichrist - Islam's Awaited Messiah
Lol! Didn’t you get that from the blurb quoted in the very first post?!
“Discover the startling similarities between the biblical Antichrist and Islam’s Messiah figure known as Imam al-Mahdi”.
Exsqueeze me? The ANTICHRIST (in later traditions presented as the son of Satan) bears ‘startling similarities’ with al–Mahdi? Boo, hiss!
Re: Book: Antichrist - Islam's Awaited Messiah
^no sorry i didn't pay any attention to that.

Nah, don’t apologise…You did right! :-D
Re: Book: Antichrist - Islam's Awaited Messiah
I read it just to see what the christians say about the anti-christ. I really didn't care about their interpretation/comparison with imam Mahdi.
