Bombay Trendz - FYI

Bombay Trendz is a store in the Brampton/Mississauga area. They sell high-end designer Indian clothes. Their clothes are truly beautiful.

However, there is a problem, which is what this post is about. It’s about their tailor, the exclusive tailor Bombay Trendz uses. If you ever visit Bombay Trendz, you will be blown away simply by their professionalism and display which is why their darzi has completely shocked me.

Under no circumstances, NEVER GIVE HER YOUR CLOTHES FOR ALTERATIONS! She completely butchered my outfit to the point where there were ‘accidental’ slices where she cut the suit … with scissors. Anyway, the Bombay Trendz people just said they would replace the suit. However, you could avoid it by simply NEVER USING THEIR TAILOR!

She’s not a professional.

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

awww, sorry to hear about that. :flower1:

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

On the bright side, you just crossed 10k.

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

OMG htat sucks! Did the bombay trends ppl give you lots of trouble for it? Its good ur getting a replacement though..

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

No, they didn’t give me any trouble … they were quite good about it. My shalwar is being ordered and will come within a month … and I got a gorgeous suit at a really low price. :clown:

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

might i recommend another dukaan for the future :D

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

No way. If you want high-end/designer Indian clothes, this is the place to go, Bombay Trendz. Just don't use their darzi. :p

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

Fine :grumpy::naraz:

Wheres it btw (just for future reference..shopping time [not to mention shopping $$ :(] is over :()

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

really thats sad.. i will let my peeppz know about this

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

so i showed up on her doorstep to pick up my shalwar cause she kept delaying giving me the new one. she wasn't home. her son was there and he called his parents and they told him where it was.

it looked different ... and it looked different but the colour was right (the week before she told me that they made it the wrong colour and she sent it back to India and would have the new one this week).

the kaam was slightly different ... it had sequins on it where it didn't have them before.

so, when we got home, we flipped it inside out and it was the same shalwar. all she did was she sewed up the cut and put sequins on it. stupid daisy's pen marks were still all over it. the cut is still there, you can see it clearly. it just has sequins stuck on it.

i hate stupid bombay trendz. divya is a damn liar.

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

Mehnaz soo sorry to hear that you had to go through this…I don’t mean to be racist and all but I don’t think indian woman/man taylors have any sense of sewing desi clothes…look at these crappy embroidery they wear…it looks awful. I might be wrong but I have had experience with 3 different sikh women here who ruined my dresses. And they were all receommended to me. Never ever I would get anything stiched by them. One of them I had to go back 3 times to her and explained clearly with drawing how i want it altered. When I got it back…it was still so bad, I came home and my mom fixed it
For some reason they won’t have sense of neatness and high standard stiching. Even a simple basic turpaaai is horrendous.

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

I am glad I am a boy.

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

Mehnaz,

You should definitely make it known to them that you are aware of the stunt that they pulled.
Proprietors should learn that honesty counts for much more than they believe.

It's such a shame that you had to deal with this.....especially at a time when you really don't need additional hassles.

Jal Pari,

I don't think that you are being racist.....but I have to admit, I've had better experiences with non-Pakistani seamstresses and tailors than the Pakistani ones that I have found here.

In fact, the worst sari blouses that I have ever had made were stitched by Pakistani tailors. And not konay ki dukaan walay tailors but reputable ones that charged me an arm and a leg for the job.

Anyhow....it's always important to give any new tailor or seamstress a "sample" job to do. Something that you won't be too disappointed about. And never, ever, ever give them something that has a deadline if you haven't put them to the test before....

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

Muzna, the Bombay Trendz people don't give two craps. All I can do is try to warn others about Divya and Daisy.

I found a GREAT Pakistani seamstress here in Brampton. She made our blouses and the saree belts really good. There is a lot of 'safai' in her work unlike some other tailors we made the mistake of going to. She made the whole saree from head to toe excellent. Her name is Humeira ... I can give you her number if you want it.

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

Really? How much would she charge for a saree? Can u post the number or only PM it?

Re: Bombay Trendz - FYI

I think you should call her and speak directly with her. My mom thought it was reasonable, and my mother is not the type to get ripped off. I will PM the information.

Would you mind giving me Humeira's number too, please? I've noticed that her name has come up a few times but can't seem to get her number. I'm looking for a good Pakistani tailor in the Brampton area. Thanks!
