'Bomb' blast hits Pakistan city

**A bomb has exploded near an intelligence office in the Pakistani city of Multan, killing at least four people, police say.**Seven others were injured in the blast, believed to have taken place in the Qasim Bela area in Punjab province.

The bomb comes just a day after two bombs exploded in a busy market in Lahore, killing at least 48 people.

More than 400 people have been killed during a string of attacks mounted by Islamist militants in recent weeks.

They coincide with an army offensive targeting the Taliban stronghold in the country’s north-west continues.

Television channel Express 24/7 showed images of damaged buildings and ambulances at the scene in Multan.

No-one has yet said they were behind the attack.

The explosion is believed to have occurred close to a security checkpoint

Police official Agaha Yousaf told the television channel it was too “premature” to say whether it was a suicide attack, the AFP news agency reported.
