Bollywood copycats

Ok thx in part to my interest in old Lollywood songs and now thx to youtube I know that a number of recent Bollywood hits are total rip offs of old Pakistani melodies. In fact it annoys me no end to see these songs playing non stop on our teles, radios and weddings when in fact we should treasure the fact that our composers and music directors were ahead of the Indian losers by decades. To think that songs from the 50s and 60s are being copied today by Bollywood just shows you how far behind these losers really are.

My question is does anyone know of any Indian movies that have been lifted from their older Pakistani counterparts? considering their track record in music I find it hard to believe that the Indians haven’t looked towards us for “inspiration” in this department.

Re: Bollywood copycats

^^ I wanted to watch that show.

When Bushra Ansari was doing Brunch with Bushra she did a great job of highlighting all the Pakistani songs and composers and I realized how much India copied from these old songs. I knew they had done some copying but not that much.

Re: Bollywood copycats

This is an old and frankly fruitless discussion. I would not call the Indians losers for copying and repackaging older Pak songs as long as the re-packaging is good. I would certainly call our own media loser for ignoring our old gems. Talent is not the monopoly of any one nation or group of people. But certainly supporting and promoting talent needs work, money, vision and a proper environment. Till we had that, we were creating good art as far as movie related art is concerned.
