Bollywood actors of Pakistani origin

I was watching some old movies and I was thinking wow the actors are quite good looking and interesting they must have some Pakistani background. lol. And I was right. So in this thread i’d just like to post interesting information on the actors/actresses with Pakistani background. Hope you find it interesting. If there’s any ive excluded feel free to add it. It would be interesting if anyone is actually from the areas where they are from. It would be interesting to know if it is well known they are from there. First of all there is Dilip Kumar, SRK’s family and Raj Kapoor all from Peshawar. interestingly all lived within 200m of each other. National Heritage: Kumar, Kapoor houses to be preserved – The Express Tribune There are also talks to convert Raj Kapoor’s house in Peshawar into a museum which would be great for tourism. Peshawar Kadar Khan was born in Balochistan and then moved to Mumbai in his youth. Apparently Aamir Khan and Ali Zafar are related in a distant way. Aamir Khan and Ali Zafar bonding | PINKVILLA Dev Anand was from Gurdaspur in Lahore, Yash Chopra from Lahore and older actors like Raj Kumar was from Balochistan and Manoj Kumar, known for being in patriotic films, was from Abbotabad. It is interesting to listen to their interviews and their experience of their early life in Pakistan. (at 19 min An interview with Ranbir Kapoor where he mentions his past links.

Not totally related but this was an interesting story about Shammi Kapoor and his long lost friend from Pakistan

Shah Rukh also has ties to Pak...but not a lot of ppl on GS thinks he is cute :p

but Pakistani also don’t consider Sahir Lodhi (Pakistan born and brought up) as cute :hmmm: see the co-incidence :hehe:

Most of the old bollywood actors were originally from Pakistan Punjab region.

  • Sunil Dutt (father of Sanjat Dutt) born in Jhelum
  • Rajendra Kumar born in Sialkot
  • Manoj Kumar born in Abbotabad
  • Dev Anand born in Gurdaspur
  • Raj Kumar born in Balochistan
