You can’t even compare Pakistan film industry with other industries its just not there, we have one director making movies after so many delays etc…and only a few artists…he seems to be taking people based on their popularity not their acting skills, Mahira has looks she’s better looking then all the other Vj’s we have in Pakistan, Atif is a popular singer etc.
Naya talent is obviously required and one should suport it but it should be done properly, When in acting people should be able to act, when in singing they should be able to sing…you cant just take anyone from the road and ask them to do your movie and just support them for the sake of new people should be encouraged to come…aaisay toh sari filmo mein non actors hongay phir faida kiya? Obviously people will go and watch this movie I will too but I am just saying Hollywood/Bollywood mein jinko acting aati hai ya thora bahaut kiya hota hai acting mein unhi ko laytay hai and then you can see phir bhi un mein say koi chalta hai koi nahi…if you want to make something good then you should start setting standards…
Khair hopefully they did a good job…lets see…cant wait for the movie to release.
Atif Aslam and Mahira Promoting their movie on Utho Jaago Pakistan - sorry but Atif was really annoying at times, especially his accent.
Mahira seemed to have made and concious effort to speak less then she normally does for some reason…but she looked pretty…Shaista never liked her haven’t seen the whole show though…

Too many commercial faces for a supposedly serious and arty film. They should've made the movie with raw new talents and choosing couple of big names to give it a punch and a balance.
From what i know the movie is about shia-sunni issues, gender discrimination etc and other unspoken issues present in our scoiety...at time I wonder whether this guy who makes these films is really a Pakistani/Muslim or not because from what I have seen he doesn't address the issues rather brings them in the spotlight as if he's exposing the hidden crap - same problem with Khuda kay liyeh...one of his characters played by Naseer uddin shah saying that Hazrat Dawuds voice was really good and that he used to sing was really offending and worth the criticism, even when Iman Ali tells the Mulana that Qayamat kay din she will ask him that the mulana had time to pray but not help her showed the film makes ignorace...not trying to start an argument here but one must address the issues and twist the facts only when they aren't religious...the whole theme of the movie was good that muslims aren't bad and all and that some people do things under pressure some because they get brainwashed okay true but that doesn't mean you go against the teachings of the holy book to prove a point...anyway...this movie would be watched as in encouragement...even when i do feel its still going to be like KKL...
very poor acting by the lead actors...promo gives no idea of what the story is...music is also not as good as was expected
The movie looks dull and all over the place.

as long as it doesn't have overacting like indian/paki movies or homosexual dance sequences, i'd give this film a chance.
The premiere was held here in Karachi. Many big named celebrities showed up. Will be officially released this Friday and I doubt its delay will hurt its business. Delays are only bad when you have a lot of competition.
saw the show with iman! wth! iman looked upset throughout the whole show! and shaista was asking such stupid and pointless questions...sometimes it makes one wonder whether she has a brain or not cause she certainly wasn't using it! and manzar sehbai indirectly criticisizing iman was just wrong! the poor thing was trying to explain why her dance sequence didn't look all that good and it made sense when she said she was only given 1 hour to prepare for the dance where in comparision indian actors are given 5 days to prepare a dance sequence.
For Hollywood it is true that “*jinko acting aati hai ya thora bahaut kiya hota hai acting mein unhi ko laytay hai”. *But that is not the thing with Bollywood. A girl wins the Miss India/World pageant and there you go, all of a sudden she becomes a film star. Even if it’s obvious that she can not act, she will still appear in many films because of her looks.
IMO there is only a small group of bollywood actors who can really act (most of that group is (half) retired now). The rest is born into the right family, good looks and nanga-pan.
So if Mahira and Atif did a good job in acting, then i wish them good luck with their new carrier.
From what I've read on the website and seen in the trailors, Shoman has addressed a number of issues in the movie including the treatment of women, eunuchs and illegitimate children in our society.
Central characters include the family of a conservative bigot who appears to despise his eunuch son( as can be seen in the song dil parishaan). Imam Ali, a prostitute, has an illegitimate kid with one of her clients (the dad?) and something really bad happens which might be related to this kid (infanticide?) which results in Humaima committing murder (of her dad?)
I am not entirely pleased with the cast. Don't see any strong actors, and not sure if humaima was a good choice for such a strong role. She fails to impress in any of the trailers!
