I think they are so under rated 
… they simply make a stunningly rocking combination with some vegies and lentils … yet they have never gained the same respect as biryani or pulao …
So this thread is in honour of boiled rice … What is the best salan serving that enhances the taste of Boiled rice?

i love boiled rice with any saalan...be it daal, qorma, chicken saalan, koftay....i loved boiled rice with nihari too (specially mohammadi nihari) wah wah.
i even eat boiled rice with chaat masala sprinkled, chatni and achaar.

They go good with anything and everything. I have to find a dish which does not taste good with plain boiled rice.

I recently tried it with courgette salan .. and maaaan it tasted good .. was an awesome combination , try it guys …

Not for a longtime , but I used to live on them when I was a kid. My kids do not like the idea though.

My hubby recently made me try the boiled rice with shakkhar ... ( Jaggery Sugar ) and it was just plain awesome too ...

Try boiled rice (cold) with half cup of milk and 1 tea spoon of sugar. U will love it ....

she is talking using boiled rice as cereal ...you are talking about cooking rice in milk and sugar.

Brit, rice and milk only become kheer when they are cooked together for a while ... but if you just add some milk and sugar to the boiled rice .. they taste entirely different and awesome :@:
