How do you guys boil chicken? Whenever I try to boil chicken to make sandwiches etc…my chicken loses the taste and becomes all rubbery.
What am I doing wrong?
Also if anyone has any yummy recipe for chicken sandwiches please share.
Thanks so much u guys!! I am a newcomer in cooking…and to be honest you guys inspired me so much to cook - espcially that “aaj kya khaya pakaya” wali thread motivates me soo much!
well, boiled chicken is going to be tasteless so you need to add spices to it, like salt and pepper. or you could try boiling it in chicken stock instead of water. it will definitely have lots of flavour then. it should shred easily and not be rubbery- if its rubbery then it might not have boiled the whole way thru. the chicken needs to be white and solid, not pinkish and a bit transparent-looking.
How about marinate chicken with some salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Cook it in a pot on medium low heat till tender. Hopefully you won't find it tasteless or rubbery. If you want to boil then make sure you add some spices don't boil in a large quantity of water and once it is tender take it off the heat.
I always boil chicken with some garlic and ginger, salt and black pepper and a tbs of vinegar which neutralizes the smell. Use little water. Or if you want stock, then add whole spices, onion to it and more water. Strain and keep aside for other things.
I usually add some garam masala and salt. If u boil chicken quickly on high heat, it will be rubbery and hard texture.
U gotta allow it to slowlly come up to simmering point, rather than rapid boil. Simmer very gently until its cooked. U will definitely notice the difference.
