Yes you are right about the cost over run around $3.0 Billion…
divided by close to 1000 airplane back log will amount to 2%…not too bad for a superior product that will save better than around 10% in airlines operating cost in fuel alone…:k:
If you are travelling to Newzealand this coming Jan, the 787 will not be in service, you will most likely travel by 777.

**True…i was just kidding. i’m flying Singapore Airlines on Airbus Industrie A380…i personally like Airbus Aircrafts over Boeing’s. i flew non stop from Chicago to Delhi a few times but i didn’t like it that much.

What's the big deal about this plane, the airlines will still make seats teeny tiny to maximize profits. I hate all airlines.

I heard one of the last major test remaining is the Taxi, which is due real soon. Japan's ANA will be the first airline to take delivery starting summer/fall of 2010.

I am waiting for this one... would be a beautiful inclusion in the new generation of aircrafts, B777 and A340.. :),,,, ( A380 is ugly ,,, damn ugly)...

^^its pretty much smaller than the big B777.. B777's engines are much bigger than many of other air crafts fuselage.
