Bodyweight Chin ups/Pull ups/Dips

Can anyone on here do them? Can any Asian women on here do them as I don’t know any Asian women to be strong enough to do them. Do any of the men on here do them as a part of their back, core and strength training? I do them as a part of my training (not assisted but my own bodyweight). I’m curious.

I am like Einstein of that.

Ask what you want.

Yep.

Re: Bodyweight Chin ups/Pull ups/Dips

I've never seen Asian men or women do them at the gyms in London (I'm a PT/Fitness Instructor).

Re: Bodyweight Chin ups/Pull ups/Dips

Amani I am a FOB.

And in pakistan I was just a boy... I did not know... that I was asian and I wast suppose to do certain things.

At most I did about 14 chinups and that holdind 40KG weight between my ankles.
With same weight I did those standing up dips too.

I loved both those exercisec. I still do, chinups alot... I got a rack in my house to do chinups.

I havn't been on this forum for a few years...I forgot the word isn't Asian on here, it's Desi!

That is impressive. I love chin ups as well but can't do them weighted yet. By the end of the year i'd like to do them with a 10kg plate on a chain. I've done weighted dips on the dips bar with 10kg attached on a chain (wasn't very sturdy though).

Do you find it easier doing chin ups or pull ups? I find chins easier than pull ups for some reason, I don't know why.

Same here I've got a power rack in the garage as well with a pull up/chin up bar at the top. I bought a dips bar as well.

Do women on here do any lifting? I'm normally on a fitness forum and have a training log on there as well. I thought i'd pop back on to Gupshup and see what the training section was like. :)

Well I stop talking after I hear the word Desi....

:D

bye bye

Re: Bodyweight Chin ups/Pull ups/Dips

I can do about 4-5 pullups with my 205 pound body and I can usually do 3 sets [of 12] of dips.

Re: Bodyweight Chin ups/Pull ups/Dips

I can - my trainer makes me do them and theyre mighty hard but the results are awesome!

Re: Bodyweight Chin ups/Pull ups/Dips

Chin ups are very good. I am going to answer your questions and say like many othes YES. You can do chin ups as a desi woman. But like all other women most of your strength lies in your legs as opposed to your upper body as it does in men. So chin ups ARE going to be harder but they can be done. here are some routines that I use for new people at my gym "Shaheen MMA Academy, Defence Lahore" who cant do pull ups.

Have someone assist you in pulling yourself up, hold yourself in that position and SLOWLY lower yourself, than repeat 3-5 times.

Have someone assist you to the top of the pull up bar and hold it as long as you can. Switch hand positions for greater variety.

Start simple and give yourself a few weeks and you will be able to start doing pull ups!
