someone will come and tell you its not allowed due to not being allowed to alter the body, and then someone will come in and make the point about ear and nose piercings, and then someone will say but that has been done for ages..

so, be ready for that :)

Actually, I ran a search on the topic on these forums & after reading many responses, Im already uncomfortable thinking of the kind of responses this thread might receive. Though, it is clear that Islamically, it is not forbidden if it does not cause the subject in any kind of (permanant) physical pain & if it is to beautify one's self.
