So I let myself buy two sets from bath and body works… (how can anyone resist them) and they are shower gel, body lotion and body spray.. I just glanced over the ingredient list (which I have never done before ) and noticed that all 3 products contain alcohol in them…
The assistant at the store told me that if I want the spray to have a lasting effect like the perfume I need to put lotion on my body and then spray it on… but both of them have alcohol in them. My question is will I be able to pray and read quran if I have applied them…

I asked someone the same question, and they told me alcohol eventually evaporates and doesn't get absorbed into the blood-stream. Alcohol-swabs are used on us, many wipes also contain alcohol too. I was told they're fine to use..

Am sure this is right.. I was also told once that if the alcohol is not able to intoxicate then it it ok to use.. seems pretty logical..
Some scholars are of the opinion that alcohol is najas, so it should not be put on our bodies in the form of creams, perfume etc. Other scholars, including Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen, say it is not najas, so it can be used topically
from the point of view that alcohol is not considered unclean, najas or napaak (it is forbidden because it intoxicates, and the pig on the other hand is forbidden because it is najas), just the CONSUMPTION of alcohol is haram, i dont think there is any gunaah in using lotion that contains alcohol, so long as it is for external use only. Allah knows best. consult an aalim.
i had the same question for which i looked up books and online and what i find out is that alcohol is a pure form of water which is not najas or napaak and can be worn while namaz or reading quran. drinking it is haram due to it's harmful effects on our body, but wearing it is ok.
