Body Language

How Impotent is body Language in relationship ?

Re: Body Language

Body language is a subtle way in which everyone has an idea of what the other peron is thinking/feeling...
if sum1 is standing there with arms crossed you can bet either they are upset/angry or scared

Re: Body Language

Most of the basic communication gestures are the same all over the world. When people are happy they smile; when they are sad or angry they frown or scowl. Nodding the head is almost universally used to indicate ‘yes’ or affirmation. It appears to be a form of head lowering and is probably an inborn gesture, as it is also used by deaf and blind people. Shaking the head from side to side to indicate ‘no’ or negation is also universal and may well be a gesture that is learned in infancy.
The woman sits alone in a noisy cafe. Her legs are tightly crossed; her fingers clasp the edge of the table;her head is down. She speaks to the menu when she mumbles her order. She misses the smile the waiter sends in her direction. At a glance, you can guess how she is feeling. Her body language says it all.

GK..I hav written a book on body language u better read that ,I will send u somother time :)OK

Re: Body Language

lolz! I agree :k:

I guess most of the body language lies on the face. Its important to read the other person’s face. :smiley:

Re: Body Language

Impotent?? Depends on your medical condition, I assume.

In any case, I am sure you have heard/read this before, but just in case…

7 percent of any message comes from the words we use;
38 percent comes from the voice we use;
55 percent comes from our body language.

Just by the way, if you think about it, how effective is email communications, then? No voice, no body language - just words. :slight_smile:

Re: Body Language

If body language is impotent then there is no relationship

Re: Body Language

:hehe:

Re: Body Language

This would mean that when speaking to someone on the phone, we only get 45% of the message accross.

Re: Body Language

:)

Re: Body Language

Oh, you do get the message across, however, since there is no body language involved, so you have to be extra careful in selecting your words and the tone.

That is why you will notice that chances of miscommunication (and people getting offended) multiply when you are communicating via email, or via phone. Especially email. Sarcasm is largely wasted and smiles that will sweaten critiques in face-to-face meetings will be absent from audio-only conference calls.

LOL

Re: Body Language

Dude, ever see Indians shake their heads from side to side when they actually mean the affirmative? You can’t say shaking head from side to side is a universal way of saying no.

Of course body language is important but when someone crosses their legs, it doesn’t mean anything. Yes, maybe in some situations the woman may be needing to go to the restroom but not always and it doesn’t always mean that she’s closed to the world. As girls we are taught to cross our legs and sit properly.
