Body Combat

ouch.. it was quite painful yesterday, but man its good. You feel like a real mortal kombat hero by the end of it with all the punching and high flying kicks (i couldnt do those… but stillll)

anyone else done it and found it useful? (in terms of losing weight not beating someone up)

I simply do not have the courage to do this class.

i didnt either.. its taken me 2 months to motivate myself... and i sooo didnt want the male instructor

but it isnt as bad as it looks.. sooo much better than aerobics (i mean it doesnt require too much coordination)

The class just looks so incredibly intimidating. I do not have the courage to do it yet ... not yet ... maybe in a few more months. However, from the effects I have seen on others, it does work wonders.

yeah? im hoping it works magic on me too.. im having a fat and ugly week.. :bummer:

yeah the class does look intimidating, but if you go with a few un-co friends its good… make sure they are worst than u  kidding..

im so hyped about my next class..

Oh hush. :smash:

^ oh no serious... its just one of those phases...

Well Body Combat is a challenge. You should reward yourself with a chocolate bar. :p

^ i had pizza and 3 choc bikkies

What is Body Combat? Is that like Kickboxing classes? Thanks.

Hey Sadzzz, do they offer Body Pump at your gym? That is my favourite class.

Munni... yeah sorta, but we dont use those punching bags

Mehnaz, yeh they have body pump too but i dont know what they do in it... hows that different from combat?

I'm quoting the following off my gym's website:

BODYCOMBAT
BODYCOMBAT is a high energy cardiovascular training class that combines moves from a range of self-defense disciplines such as Karate, Boxing and Tai Chi. BODYCOMBAT not only increases fat-burning potential, but it also improves muscle coordination, strength, flexibility and agility.

BODYPUMP
BODYPUMP works every major muscle in the body and is ideal for exercisers of all levels. To increase intensity, simply add weight to the barbell. Focus is on correct lifting technique using light to moderate weights and high repetitions.

In my opinion, Body Combat is a much better workout cause it's cardio and also focuses on toning and burning fat. Body Pump tones, but not much cardio.

You should try Boot Camp ... the most intimidating class .... never done it myself.

ooh thanx... what is boot camp?? im scared of new exercises.. i cant believe i even made it to body combat

ive never done weights! well its been like almost 4 years

Boot Camp is a military style exercise class. I find it even more intimidating than Body Combat.

hmm in that case i wont be trying it...

have u tried a cycling class? i heard that burns fat real fast, but i cant even last 15 minutes on a bike and thats on like level 2

No ... I don't do the spinning classes. :D I hear your legs go numb after the first 15 minutes.

I remember when I used to go to a different gym in the summer, our class was right after the spinning class. The whole studio would wreak of sweat and there were times when there were puddles of sweat around the bikes and all over the floor from people sweating buckets during the spinning classes. Absolutely disgusting. Completely turned me off of ever trying that class.

aww yeah! at my uni gym there was a spinning class which was visible by everyone (glass walls) and the people in there looked disgusting!! my desi friend would be like "sadia.. lets hang out here.. i wanna look at these sweaty blonde babes".. gross!!

done all three (yeah yeah, call me a weirdo, used to be a health-freak)

nothing beats the old fashion, running and swimming.. NOTHING :-)
