I heard from a guy who came from LaPlace that Jindal doesn't really want to be identified with the Indians. But since you know him from childhood I defer to you on that.

bobby is a very ambitious politician. do you really think he changed to catholic because he saw the light D, even people in lousy-ana dont believe in that. this is the state which never elected a non-white, women or non-christian until recently. you figure the rest.
he keeps limited contact with desi community for obvious reasons. in all his fundraisers desis give him full support. my friend spent 5 grand to have dinner with him and mc cain.
on an unrelated note: lots of people like him here just for delivering his own baby in a car half way to hospital.
