Reading Icon’s thread I was thinking that is it right to send a small child to a boarding school? I know schools like Hasan Abdaal generate good results but still why parents think that if their children will stay away from them they will get good educaton or what is the purpose of boarding school? Like in my opinion its some kind of detention until a child reaches a certain age where he/she will be able to differentiate between good and bad.I like to see my children growing in front of me until they reach college age after that they have to go but when a child is small like in 5 or 6 grade he /she is too young and they need to be taken care of.My hubs had a friend who went to HasanAbdaal ,he never cared about his parents because he use to say when I need them they were not there for me so I am not available for them now when they need me.
Well share your views if you have given an option to send your child to a boarding school will you do that?

No.
Not that I am married or got kids or as such... but whenever I would have..then NO.
The thing is, it's a stage of life when the kid adopts and adapts, and just as u said... its an age where the kid needs to know EXACTLY what is right and what's not... and needs constant monitoring... so no way.

No way no how. Children need the comfort of home and the security and love that it brings. Family life is as important to learn about and experience as school subjects.

I couldnt, i think what is the point of having kids if ur not gonna bring them up,
I know someone who went to boarding school and he ended up resenting his parents for sending him away.
Good or bad, I don't think too many of them matter any more. Back in the day they did, but times have changed.
Funny thing, parents here in US and UK talk about home schooling. No one cares about the environment in schools back home. All the elite schools, their kids cus like sailors and act like hooligans. All that matters is how many As were obtained in O and A levels.

It’s altogether a great & fun time. It is good in a way that boarding school reduces compartmentalization, because academic studies are blended with other activities, such as sports and trainings. The students enjoy more challenge and face fewer harmful distractions.
