Lets move on from the friggin smuggling events that happened, what 20-25 years ago… and the actions of a few lamers, and talk about now… and the Newsweek story](http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7693014/site/newsweek/) that recently surfaced.
Obviously the US investigators in that incident understand the seriousness of the matter and not comparing it to some Afghan smugglers who put hasheesh in Quran. Lets keep the perspective here. What we are talking about are the actions of US military personnel, and the reaction in some part of the muslim world.
ps. And stop being too perplexed on this. Its really pretty simple, actually.

Faisal, I am perplexed by your heavy handed moderation of this thread, particularly in light of the original post being more about the riots than the alleged desecration. Perhaps you should open a new thread with your Newsweek focus.

I am just discussing the events (both the protests in Afghanistan and the original event that caused it) and the reaction of you guys that is displayed here. Unless you just want to use this space to bicker about irrelevant events of years gone by, and practice some blame-displacement, why should you mind someone trying to keep this train on track? :)

Smeinole that will be too repititive. I am sure we have all discussed menstrual blood, red ink. etc.. but never desecrating Quraan in Gitmo and the effects 10K miles away in Jalalabad, the future Islamic capital.

Verizon yaar sorry to say that I wasn’t talking in your mothers language. It was plain English written backwards, unless if English is now regarded as the language of a$$holes.
Now here is some basic common sense, it is one thing if the Chinese disrespected the Holy Quran, yet it is another thing if it is reported that the Americans have. You may ask why or how is it different? I would say that is a stupid question, but I will explain anyways. The Chinese haven’t declared a “crusade” (quoting Bush) here to do Christ’s work (quoting Bush again) on two Muslim countries where Muslim men and women are raped and sexually harassed by low life rednecks doing best what they learned from the holy fathers of their churches.
What happened or is going to happen is tragic, because I know no matter what more Muslims will be killed. Yet I also know that things are getting heavier for the henchmen of Christ in home and out side of their home. In the end it is the average American that pays the hefty price, the same average American who visits the house of Christ once in a blue moon.

It is an antiquated mindset, a myopic one that thinks that some alleged/ill perceived provocation against islam, makes it all hunky dory to kill a few people, fly some planes into buildings, shoot a few women in a soccer stadium. How come there is no hue and cry when the esteemed prophets name is used i.e. “Jaiesh E Muhammad” to kill people. WHere are the riots, the killings of such terrorists? Selective morality perhaps? All of this is religious thuggery, whether it is in the streets of uneducated people in jalalabad or amidst the pseudo-educated ones on Gupshup.

Desecration of the Quran has never been a matter taken lightly by Muslims, why sud it be different this time around. Something is wrong, its wrong.
Who were the perpetrators of this desecration. American Soldiers/Non-Muslims/Christians or Jews or agnostics. People who have never acknowledged Islam or Muhammed (PBUH) as a Prophet. For them Muslims/Saracens are unbelievers and their Book is nuthin but a fake. If that is the case, why wud they accord any respect to our beliefs or book? Whereas, We Muslims recognize Eissa, Moses and all the Abrahamic traditions, yet we have no qualms in desecrating, insulting Books folllowed by our Ahle Kithaab. Why should we be outraged when others follow the same actions which we have practiced and continue to do so.
Another point, when Sunni's blow up Shaia ImamBargh and Shia blow up Sunni Masjid, what happens to the Quran? Blown to pieces with blood of its believers. Where's the outrage then, nowhere....
Basically, its a political rallying point for Muslims who wud luve to shaft the Americans with anything....
