I need some recommendations for blushes, drugstore/high-end…doesn’t matter. I’ve got NC30-NC35ish skin, so yeah. Something to give a nice flushed/healthy-glowy look without being so obvious. Pictures would be nice =] Thanks
Blush
NARS orgasm!! Best blusher I've ever purchased, n I've purchased quite a few in my time!
Re: Blush
^Orgasm might not do much for NC35.
- NARS Deep Throat
Tarte’s Exposed (it a nude-rose so it looks extremely natural)
NYX Cream Blush in Natural and Glow:
Also, I know red blushes can scare a lot of people but they look the most natural when used very lightly. They work amazing through out the year, especially during the very hot and cold months. I love NARS Exhibit A and Tarte’s Natural Beauty (I have a few more but these two will be easily to swatch and see in person):
Natural Beauty is swatched above next to Exposed.

Re: Blush
Deep throat, orgasm, super orgasm......WTF!!!
Re: Blush
^Heh, that’s NARS’ names for you. Illamasqua is worse. Phallic is an actual name of a shade. ![]()
Re: Blush
i guess sax sells, especially when the target crowd are women. ![]()
Re: Blush
I just bought Tarte's Blushing Bride yesterday and I am in lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvve!
Re: Blush
^That plum shimmer color? Yaaaaay! Tell me how you like using it. I have NARS Sin and Oasis which I think are somewhat similar. Plum blushes are hard to pair with stuff, often.
Re: Blush
i need a suggestion.. do u think plum shades look good on NC 30-35 skin??
and hope u dont mind me asking how much is that for? :halo:
Re: Blush
I kinda like Benefit Dallas, it's a nice plummy colour without being too dark or heavy

Nomi I think this is an opportunity here to open your own line of products and go crazy with the names :/
Re: Blush
Plum shades look great on all skin tones but on very light skin tones they can look ruddy so NC30-35 will pull them off fine. And Tarte’s blushes are $25.

Re: Blush
MAC's Warm Soul mineralize blush...u will love it I promise
Re: Blush
M_was_here - you are amazing. <3 I was debating between the NARS blushes (Orgasm/Deep Throat).
Also, if you've used the NYX ones, are they long-wearing? I feel like cream blushes will just melt/wipe off.
And - how the eff do I contour? I always feel like I'm just putting streaks of color on random spots on my face. And is it necessary? What're good options when going for bronzer/contour color?
Sorry if that's a lot of questions, haha.

I have MAC's Desert Rose, and I like it. But I just googled Warm Soul and won't it be too light for someone with medium/medium tan skin? =/

No it's not at all! It only looks like it in pics...I like darker blushes and this is a beautiful blend of a light bronze, pinkish peach with a bit of shimmer..it gives that healthy glow I'm a nc 37 and shows up on me...try it on at the store! :)

Re: Blush
M, that plum color looks dark in the pan and it really is that dark so you just need a slight dusting on your brush…I apply about an inch or so away from my nose and not too high either so it looks like a soft flush of color…its the perfect shade I think…not too pinkish and so subtle.
I am NC30 and now leaning towards darker because of the sun I will be getting soon. I love it…the key is not to use too much…you have to really control how much is going on because it is a strong color when applied with a heavy hand. Its got a lot of color but soooo pretty.
And yes, M was right…its about $25 at Ulta.

For your skin, I would def. go with DT because it'll show up more. Orgasm may look like a peachy highlighter if you lean more towards NC35. Also, the NYX ones last a good few hours but in the summer time, I set with a light dusting of translucent powder or a very pale light blush to set it. They last a good while because they don't feel wet, they just stain your cheek a bit.
I personally don't contour but I am thinking of getting Kevyn Aucoin's Sculpting Powder. You can check MAC's sculpting powder or NYX's blush in Taupe which a LOT of people love for contouring. It's great to practice with, I think I may get one as well. For bronzer, I like subtle bronzers like NARS Laguna, Edward Bess Daydream, Dior Aurora. Do you read my blog by any chance? I am working on a bronzer post with swatches. ;) For your skin, you can try the NARS Casino which is a shade darker than Laguna.
As for contouring, use a cool-toned/grayish brown to contour and try using a tapered brush or a small rounded brush like MAC's 109. You have to start very light and work it on. The effect shouldn't be that noticeable. Also, did you ever try contouring with creams the way Kim Kardashian's MUA does it? Goss on youtube did a few videos on this.
