Contour powder (or cream) goes on the hollows of your cheeks, your highlighter goes on the top part of your cheek bones, the blush is usually applied lightly to the apples of your cheeks and swept upwards into the hairline.

why do we use blush? I am horrible at contouring and highlighting so now i’m starting off using only blush and understanding the point of it.

Some ladies concentrate it just on the apples of their cheeks and it looks too much like a doll’s makeup.
So when you apply blush take it all the way up to just underneath your earlobe.

I came across this, on Pinterest, about applying blush:

perfect. This is what I was looking for because it does differ based on face shape where to place the blush because i’m a cross between heart shaped face and squarish.
