So I got my Nikon D60 today
Thanks Aisha for your recommendation. I was leaning towards the Rebel XS but when I tried it out, I was disappointed with the results
Meanwhile Aisha’s parents’ picture assured me of the awesome quality that Nikon has, exactly what I am looking for.
Now just one question for the pros- how do I take the pictures where the focus is on a certain thing but the rest of it is blurred out?
Re: Blurring out backgrounds
With normal lens you select option child/kid on you camera.
It must have a round shape flipping button. and many image on it.
mountain/portrate/support/kid
So you select one with the kid.
And I remember my brother had a lens back in the days to blur out the back ground.
This depends on a number of factors. The focal length of the lens, the shooting aperture and the image (film or sensor) size. There are also factors like the relative distance of the main subject and background from the lens and each other.
- Set the mode to Av
- Set the aperture to the smallest number you can get (Use smallest lens aperture ,that will yield the greatest depth of field fx f1.4 , f2.8 etc etc)
- Focus on something closer than infinity
In easy words try to focus on something that is “close”, and you will automatically get the depth of field in the background. Zaroori nahi that you put ur mode on AV, it can be on automatic aswell.
But try to experiment around, but the point 3 is very important, always focus on something jo tasveery mai agay aye ga, aur peechay ka khud blur ho jaye ga.
Try doing this fx:
Hold something in your hand, take the camera with your other hand and focus the thing you are holding in your hand fx the apple and once you take the shot , keep MINIMUM relative distance ,the apple will get focused automatically (unless your lens is on manual and not auto), and the background will be blurred completely.
Like I did in this shot:

Re: Blurring out backgrounds
shay…i cant wait…jaldi post kero yaar
aisha or samad…inni wadi wadi tasveerain post kernay say phele doseroon k computer per plz app loug rehm kertay howay medium ya small size post kerin.
or aisha…first one is good, but what is that second one…yaar perfume ki bottle ki to sahi pic lo :smack:
it seems like a yellow daig-cha to me. :o
the beauty of Perfume is actually in its bottle. take a black velvet, and show the glow with an absorbing back ground, and show it as lill as possible.
here is a good example of what i mean to say.
photography of Perfumes, revolves around a phenomenon of sensuality. if i have time i will open a thread on this…otherwise you are more than welcome to do so. (or wasay bhi i m not a parfum collector…sir main dard ho jata hai :mudhosh:)
box khola nahi , aur help pehlay say shuru. behan jee pehlay camera to hath mai laiN, zara photos utaraiN, aap to future mai ja rahi haiN aik dum hee.

Re: Blurring out backgrounds
lol. there are two kind of users
first one is who reads the manual before using the machine.
and then there is a second one who uses the machines, throw away the manual, and when they make some blunder with the machine they try to look for the manual.
be the second one shay
(i hope u have one year warranty
)
mera laptop widescreen hai 17 inch so mujhe normal lagta hai when i post pics.. survey karana pareyga ke logon ki computer screens kitni barri hain.
