Blurred Vision

I take great care of my contact lenses. I clean them twice a day and regularly clean the overnight case. I regularly change my lenses. Despite all these fabulous habits, I am noticing that my vision blurs slightly in my left eye. If I close my right eye, and look at a distant object with left, it appears slightly blurry initially. After some effort the eye focuses and the picture becomes clear.

Could this be a sign of astigmatism in my left eye? Could this be a case of dryness causing my contact lenses to slip?

I am just dreading the thought of going to an opthamologist. And it’s not because I am afraid, I just can’t be bothered.

Any of you guppies encounter such a situation?

Re: Blurred Vision

it happens to me too, i think its because of dry eyes. i try not wear contacts for long time now. also depends on the solution you use to clean the lenses.

Re: Blurred Vision

umm..do u wear the ones tht last for 6 months or the ones tht last for abt 2-3 weeks..samethings happen to me after a while and its because its time for new ones

Re: Blurred Vision

Hmmm...

I wear my contacts for 14-18 hours a day.

Also, lately I have noticed I am rubbing my eyes a lot due to itchiness. Dryness?

I am using this No Rub solution, and rub my contacts when cleaning them. :D

Re: Blurred Vision

These are monthly pairs and one I am wearing is two weeks old.

Re: Blurred Vision

then maybe its time to change them

Re: Blurred Vision

After two weeks of wear? The pair feels like new i.e. no feeling whatsoever.

Re: Blurred Vision

I think ur prescription might be changing, so you should see ur opthalmologist.

Re: Blurred Vision

Can’t you think of anything else? :teary1::teary1::teary1:

Last time I went to this chacha miaN and he wouldn’t shut up his bukbuk about this and that. It’s worse than going to a dentist atleast tooth mechanics know when to shut up.

Elahi …elahi.

Re: Blurred Vision

Lux mah dear,

When's the last time you saw him? I don't think anything is worse than going to the dentist, all the drills that I can hear in the waiting room give me shivers, and I get this sand grinding feeling in my teeth. Eeegh.

Okay seriously though, even after taking all ur precautions and good care, if ur still experiencing the same problem all the time, then you should definitely see ur opthalmologist. If it were just the case of tiredness, or dryness, the problem should resolve when you are well rested, etc.

Btw, I don't wear glasses or contacts :D but have almost all the family members who do, and logic kinda points towards the prescription changing! Stop looking for reasons to not go!

Re: Blurred Vision

I like this one better. Let me try some sleep.

Re: Blurred Vision

if you are cleaning your contacts twice a day...you do know that once you take them out of your eye...they need to be in the solution for atleast 4 hours. so taking them out and cleaning them really won't be doing anything

as for the 14-18 hours of wear time...that isn't recommended either. your eye really needs the oxygen. try not to wear them for longer than 8 hours a day.

Re: Blurred Vision

that might be the problem.

Time for eye exam :D You can't treat your teeth and eyes the same. Lose a tooth, can always go to a specialist, get drilled a new screw with shinny crown on top. Damn thing just feels like original. Now, can't say the same thing about an eye...

Re: Blurred Vision

Same thing used happen to me in my left eye...
and i have astigmatism...
but i found a trick which works for me.... Rotate the lens 180 degrees... it works most of the time...
BTW you still do need to make sure that lens is not worn inside out... that was major cause of itich, red eye and blurred vision for me when i first started :(

Re: Blurred Vision

didnt anyone tell you not to overdo it or you will go blind? ab bhugto.

Re: Blurred Vision

Re: Blurred Vision
