Blue Screen of Death/Reinstall

A reinstall rewrites the registry of OS, so all the previous installations will be gone. The only thing that will stay, will be the directory structure. Yea you will have to reinstall the software and drivers.

Dang! I was really hoping to avoid having to reinstall the programs. Drivers, etc. are no problem i can do that. But all the software will be a pain in the rear.

So what can i do to possibly fix the current install w/out redoing it from scratch? (I’ll try and get the error code that i get when blue screen pops up). But what usually causes memory dumps?
