Blue Lagoon

i watched this movie many years ago when i was maybe 4-5 and i remembered it due to the adventures the young boy and girl had while stranded at the island after a ship wreck. i didnt remember or understand any of the other stuff. i thought they were siblings. many years later, few months ago, i came across the movie on HBO and the girl was Brooke Shields and the guy some Atkinson. it’s a great movie really! they were not brother-sister and the story is really great.

ive heard there’s a sequel too. has anyone any idea if thats correct? how do you people like the movie? and please, i hope no one will post the story of the sequel! thanks!

I saw the movie when I was a teenager; to be honest it was more of a pre-porn movie. In school if you were an eighth grader and hadn’t seen Brook Shields boobies’ u were such a loser.
As far as I am concerned the initial impact of the movie was that for a very long time when I was in an aircraft I used to have fantasies that the plane would crash and I would survive the crash along with an airhostess(Non-PIA) on some deserted island.
Well the fantasies never materialized. :(

Good fantasy nonetheless Pakora. Thanks for sharing :k:

hay, ur fantasies not materializing is better than getting stranded on an island along with a [non(non PIA)] Pilot from Bannu.

Oh what days were those…

I think I hit puberty right after watching this movie.

wow, an old movie! Brook Shields ki jawani ki...

:rotfl: :rotfl:

yeah brooke shields is dreamy in that movie...cant blame the wild fantasies, it was her fault! :D

brook sheild ki bas yehi film mash-hoor hoi hai ya koi our bhi

other then tv (suddenly susan)

Wasay she was pretty

yup a movie called "Sahara" where she takes a bath under a waterfall.

Wasn't Brooke Shields only 12 or 13 when she starred in this movie?

Yes, there is a sequel, called "Return to Blue Lagoon". In some ways it is similar to the original, and in some it is different. If you liked the original movie, you will most probably like this one too.

The sequel stars Milla Jovovich. It was really slow, and in my opinion, stupid.

Here you go:

Rohit thanks again. i just read the link. it was news that original one was made in the 40s and WB is planning a remake.
'return of blue lagoon' seems to have no connection with 'the blue lagoon', story wise.

Welcome, Haris.
If I remember correctly, there is a connection in the stories of the two movies. Remember the last scene in the original, where the parents and the infant are drifting in the boat? The sequel starts with that boat only ... ( suspense, suspense :) )

And yes, I too was surprised to see that the 1980 and 1991 versions were remakes of much older movies.

Same here, except for the fantasies part.
