Re: blue gods
well.. it's interesting to know though. Anyone who knows, please, let me know. I wonder why a god would fight with another? There must be some reasoning. Is one wrong? or is it misunderstanding?

Re: blue gods
What does that have to do with the blue-facial coloring?
Re: blue gods
well, it has everything to do with that if in fact the color of the face was blue due to the biting of Nag Raj. ![]()
Re: blue gods
The Question initially was where does the blue color come from. If you have any information that can add to the answers given in the thread, then post them. No need to test the patience of people with crafty questions like that. That question alone deserves another thread. Please go pollute somewhere else.
Re: blue gods
In that case, thread has served its purpose

Re: blue gods
Lajo, what you say cant be true because Nagraj is one of shiva's names, as he is lord of the snakes. you must have it confused with someone else.
AQ, gods arent infallible to logical scrutiny as in every other religion.
Re: blue gods
but there must be a story behind the incident as always.. No?
Re: blue gods
what incident?
Re: blue gods
A lot of mythology is mixed up in the Hindu religion-being one of the oldest religions(5000 years).
Each and every story has a 'moral', and that is what Hinduism is all about. Truth, valour, piety, honour, humbleness, peace and generousity.
The Hindu thought has spread all over Asia (Buddism ) and the world - meditation, yoga, inner peace-if you only look cursorily, you will only find the idols and why they are blue.
Re: blue gods
I was told that Queer said...that blue is Dark skin
Re: blue gods
Ok... I was reading a book today on cultural coloration of skin through history and it just happened to mention that "greenish-blue coloring is the reminder that Vishnu is God of water, air, and space" and went on to say that the Gods that would fall under him are colored that way also.
Makes as much sense as anything else said here.
Re: blue gods
Why do you do silly things like read books when you could be shupgupping?
you think we dont notice...or care?
