the salon i go to normally charge 400-500 rs for blow dry but for my hair which according to them are EXTRA LONG & EXTRA THICK they charge 1000 rs …this is not fair
and yea i haven’t got my hairs blow dried for almost a year now so the now they would charge me more than 1000 rs
blow drying your own hair is always more difficult....
but to get the best results.... i always let my hair dry aboug 50% and then start, so my hands don't drop off... and always do your bangs first.
and one thing i have learned from my hair dresser... when my hair is wet she always puts this shine spray in... she said it makes the hair dry faster. Works like a charm
I always used to end up with 'puffy' hair,no matter how hard I tried to blow dry my hair...until I invested in an Ionic hair dryer.I also wait until my hair is 80% dry and away I go.With a large brush I manage to get lots of body in my hair....which is layered.I also use Frizeaze (sp) before hand.Afterwards I use a finishing serum.
If I do blow dry my hair which is very rare I usually do it just b4 I go to bed, I turn my head upside down and blow dry it tht way and then add serum to it and let it settle thro out my sleep.
I've learned how to blow dry mine perfectly, by observing my hair dressers and getting the stuff they have. for me following are essential to a good blow dry:
1. Good hair dryer(I can hear you gals say DUH:p)
2. Teasing comb (with the partitioning end)
3. Clips (for partitioning)
4. Thermal protection serum (I use Bed Head's blow dry serum) plus all other serums, root lifters etc etc (depending on hair needs)
5.Flat brush/ Big roller brush (depending on my hair style)
I partition my hair using the comb. I part from the center all the way to the back and use the sectioning clips to clip up the side i am not working on. I split the side I am working on into a front and back section, clip up the front section and start blow drying the back section( sometimes, I'll further partition that section into a top and bottom section and clip up the top and start blow drying from the bottom). So essentially I work from back to front and bottom to top.( i dunno if i explained this well or ended up confusing everyone). It works really well for me.
I typically also use a flat iron to tame the hair and to decrease the poof.
If I want to do waves (my hair is naturally wavy) I use a diffuser in front of my hair dryer and use any curl enhancing mousse.
gurls i used to have major issues in blow drying as well..my best friend has the curliest of the curly hair..and she blow dries it like how they do it in the salon....im so jealous!
hehe
so here's what she does
1 - after shower put hair mousse/ volumiging mouse/ or a voloumizing spray ( i use the fructus one)
2 air dry your hair for a bit.../ tower dry
3 get a round brush
4- crap / claw clips...to hold your hair..because you are going to be giving your layers
5- start from the bottom
And you tube videos...its been so helpful and after so long now I can blow dry my hair nicely :)
