Is it possible to get addicted to it? I lub how my hair looks and feels after i blow dry it but im afraid of the long term damage its causing.. The highlights i got two months ago caused enuff damage to my hair, when I look at pix frm before, my hair acutally looked good whether i heat styled it or not, it was thick and dark.
since i been here, it gets really oily really quick.. kiya karoon?
Re: blow dry addiction
Depends on how frequently you blow dry your hair, what setting it's on (high/medium/low) and how close you bring the dryer to your actual hair.
The oily hair might have more to do with the environment rather than the hair drying. What's the weather like and how often are you washing your hair? Are you using the same products as before?
Also, water makes a difference. When I was in Saudi/Pakistan, my hair was lush and soft, without my having to put anything in it .... whereas here, it's more rough .... difference in water.
Re: blow dry addiction
Hmm.. everytime i wash it i blow dry it.. i leave it on a medium setting most of hte time, and keep the drier far away.. Sometimes, if i want a deep blow dry, ill dry it all over with the hottest setting, then bring it down. i do that maybe once a week or every other week..
its Freakin hot here , it feels like May but its only February.. im afraid of what it’ll be like when I leave!
Well i bought new shampoo and conditioner, the same kind that i use over there actually, Thermasilk for oily /greasy hair.. i put bioamla a few days ago and it acutally made my hair less oily, i went two days w/o washing, as compared to one day as before.. maybe im adjusting to the weather now :halo:
Re: blow dry addiction
could be the difference in the water..hard or soft water....
Re: blow dry addiction
sara dont use a conditioner for now if you have greasy hair
Re: blow dry addiction
I have naturally curly hair and I blowdry it straight then use a flat iron everyday. So it is possible to overuse heat on your hair. It can cause damage. I just try to let my hair dry naturally once in a while then I tie it up. Natural scalp oil is actually good for your hair. So I go two days sometimes without washing my hair. But I'm very dry anyways. You mentioned you're oily. It could be the heat I guess.
