I hope the dengue outbreak is not very serious and will be controlled soon. But I was a little concerned about the disease spreading to other parts of Pakistan. Until a few days ago, the infection was localized in Karachi and surrounding areas, but now a few instances of the disease have been reported in not only upper Sindh but also Punjab and Pakhtunkwa/NWFP. A couple of days ago, two/three people arriving in Pindi from Karachi tested positive for the infection. (There was also some other case probably in Khushab or Chakwal?) I think one case has been reported in Peshawar.
While authorities can not and should not limit the mobility of people, they must try to educate them to immediatelty seek medical help if they develop dengue-like symptoms. Not doing so poses greater danger to the patient’s life than anyone else.
Secondly, I suggest govt warn people travelling to India about the prevalence of such diseases there. I have been reading about the cases of dengue fever in northern India before any such case was reported in Pakistan. (I’m not suggesting any link.) Kerala has been battling the ‘severe outbreak’](BBC NEWS | South Asia | Indian dengue toll climbs to 38)of another mosquito-born disease, chikungunya. Last year, there was an outberak of encephalitisin northern India.
I recall DDT was used heavily in KSA around Hajj time.
question in these cases is what is the bigger evil DDT and its effects or the spread of such disease?
these little cunts are becoming resistant to alternatived of DDT. I seriously would wage war on them. They make life of the typical person a misery, even more than the Indians.
They are the most annoying thing I know. I have an allergic to them so when in PK my skin has loads of lumps thanks to histomine. Used to setup a mosquito net then spend 30 mins clearing it out of any cunts. Was rather hot though even when under a fan. Feel sorry for the poor guys who have to sleepwith them, no protection.
