Similar story as what Shahid Masood said when he was threatened. Blackmailing government that we have 'stuff' against Zardari and company and if need be, can bring that 'stuff' in public which will damage 'repute' of PPP leadership.

If these 'journalists' have files and files of evidence incriminating PPP leadership, they should be brought in public instead of being used as a blackmail device.

For those who dont know Urdu, Hamid Mir has openly challenged Salman Taseer of the PPP (who posted this convo) to prove it in the court, and he has also said that if so, he will also reveal some things there which will expose the 'asteen key saamp' in the PPP and their wrongdoings.

The point i was making is neighther the generals nor the chudharys/jaageerdars/feudals/politician (the establishment) give a crap about awam, all are exploiting miseries like terrorism etc. to get themselves rich. It is in their interest that the awam is busy hating jews/hindus/west/india/raw/mossad/cia and stay illiterate etc. so the awam does not revolt. Difference is politicians are thugs with no guns (and atleast partly chosen by awams will), whereas generals are thugs with guns (awam has no choice in the matter either shutup or get ur rear kicked), hence more dangerous. I consider the foot soldiers as part of awam.

I have a couple of things to say:

  1. I havent listened to the complete tape neither have I read the complete transcript. Although, the developing stories on TV suggests that it is a typical case of a ‘traitor’s’ looking to take a revenge against another Pakistani (traitor or not I don’t know) out of his personal grudge. I cannot say if KK was a traitor or not. Maybe he was also a double agent.

  2. He constantly going on about qadiyanis which suggests he is against qadiyanis – a community which has served Pakistan’s interest the most, globally. But he himself, who claims to be a muslim, is trying to inflame another muslim to kill a 3rd muslim. I thought, it is said in islam that murdering a single human is like murdering the whole humanity. So which Islam does HM claim to follow as per which qadiyanis are the bad, evil, non muslim creatures whereas a noble muslim like himself provoking a 2nd muslim to kill a 3rd muslim. I mean, just Wow!!

  3. Who is this guy HM is talking to? You said he is a ‘patriotic’ Pakistani. Are you sure? What makes you say that? I sense that guy really making an effort to flaunt a Pakistani Punjabi accent. Can anyone who knows him further investigate if this guy really is a Pakistani? Yeah it’s impossible for me to understand how a patriotic Pakistani can be okay with killing so many Pakistanis who already do not have great things going on in their lives / country which they can be proud of. Every single Pakistani is extremely despressed & in a state of much hopelessness due to the more & more social, economic & other problems the worsening conditions of whole of Pakistan’s system is bringing about. Then on the top of that, they are also made to suffer witnessing the other Pakistanis being bombed which many times are their own relatives / friends. Giving Pakistani & their families much more to mourn about with their loved ones leaving their homes with no assurance that they would return & many times they wouldn’t. There’s nothing ‘patriotic’ about such acts. It is only barbaric. So, anyone who can recognize this guy HM is talking to, can someone please investigate that he really is a Pakistani Punjabi & not some Indian RAW agent exported to Pakistan? Because I am quite skeptical at the way this guy speaks. He is trying to ‘create’ a Lahori punjabi accent. It seems to me as if he is making an effort at that. I have heard almost all kinds of Punjabi accents. A typical Pakistani Punjabi man would not usually stress each word to make it ‘sound’ Punjabi. So I have serious doubts that this guy really is a Pakistani Punjabi……… maybe an Indian Punjabi RAW agent sent to Pakistan to impose as a Pakistani patriotic Punjabi, leading / co-leading TTP to create all those troubles that we have seen TTP creating in Pakistan. Most probably the same guy released the tape to add to a long list of dramas already being staged on the stage of Pakistan’s politics. This is done probably to meet certain objective which we do not know of as of yet.

  4. And regarding amreeka out, this is a very long debate. These people from FATA told me that FATA is considered a part of Pakistan because the habitants of that region wished to be annexed with Pakistan when the british had left but they had demanded that they would have their own rules on their own land & not the same rules as the Pakistani state. So, technically, it is not ‘Pakistan’. Keeping that in mind, both Pakistan & America should have respected the sovereignty of FATA. The only problem here is that the so called al qaeda which you do not admit even existed / exists is said to have taken birth & grown in this region. Even if al qaeda was a foreign created terror group, why were they given a chance to grow & develop in FATA by the local people? Unless you are suggesting that it was Pak government which was working under the dictation of anti-pakistan mafia to help develop, grow that terror group in FATA region? If that’s what’s your argument, then I agree that Pak government is to be blamed for the current drone attacks on FATA region. And in that scenario, even tribal peoples’ anger is justified. I recall OBL used to call out for the destruction of the west (his version of jihad) from Afghanistan. How & when this was shifted to FATA is ununderstandable.

  5. Apart from that, I recall cases where some shady american companies belonging to various industries opened up offices all over Pakistan in affiliation with the local businesses / companies. I suspect that those companies were actually little spy houses who would travel to FATA / northern areas for the purpose of spying. That happened after Indian-americans fed a lot of misconceptions & negative propaganda to america about pakistan relating to every single thing on this planet one can imagine. The Indian-americans’ manipulation & brainwashing of non-indian-americans against Pakistan included (among countless other things) creating worst kind of paranoia about Pak-China relations than ever before. india’s desperate efforts to cause an America-pak war were put to rest when these American spies (blessing in disguise?) saw the real Pakistani people, their way of lives & everything that Pakistan is about. They discovered that the negative propaganda they were fed by Indian-americans was baseless. These Indian-americans used every single tactic, every single card, every single tool of manipulation to cause & promote feelings of extreme hatred, intolerance & hatred between the two nations to cause this war which definitely benefitted india in all ways. And actually, indians have created the same kind of environment (feelings of hatred, intolerance & mistrust) against American people in the minds of common Pakistani public through talibans & other extremist groups (financed & supported by india. And for that India also joined hands with all the anti American nations & also exploited all those anti American nations against Pakistan too. This is one major reason of the changed attitudes / loyalties of UAE (once a friend of Pakistan) towards Pakistani people (But that is another world of discussion altogether)

  6. On the other hand, incase the American presence is causing any kind of harm to Pakistan’s existence, global standing & interests, I am against it. Im against the presence of black water, XE or whatever that sh!t is, ofcourse.

I look at every pakhtun, punjabi, sindhi or balouchi as Pakistanis because they all come from & Pakistan is a very tiny part of a huge universe. Pakistanis who create differences between themselves based on ethnicities are above my understanding.

**ISLAMABAD: The ripples caused by the emergence of an audio tape on the web last week of an alleged telephone conversation between a prominent Pakistani journalist and a Pakistani Taliban militant has blown into a full-fledged controversy, with the journalist and television anchor now completely denying his involvement and many others calling for a high-level investigation to establish truth. **
Hamid Mir, who finds himself in the midst of a raging debate on the issue of journalistic ethics, has moved a step further from describing the taped conversation as doctored or concocted to completely denying that it was his voice. And for all this he is blaming the country’s top civilian intelligence service, the Intelligence Bureau Directorate which, according to him, was part of a larger game to malign him and a few others.
Shocking as it is, the telephone conversation revolves round the alleged dubious role of an Islamic hardliner and former ISI operative Khalid Khwaja, and that too when he was still in the captivity of a little known militant group Asian Tigers. The man posing himself to be Hamid Mir is heard accusing Khalid Khwaja of being a notorious double agent, who had been working for everyone from the American CIA to Qadianis, and having played a dirty role in the Lal Masjid episode.
The large number of websites where this audio tape is currently available describe it as a candid conversation on telephone between Hamid Mir and a Punjabi Taliban. Some have gone to the extent of accusing Mr Mir to be one of the instigators for what happened to Khalid Khwaja, as within days of this supposed conversation a video of Mr Khwaja was released in which he had made similar “confessions” of his involvement in the Lal Masjid saga, and of working for CIA. Within days of this video tape, Mr Khwaja was shot dead and his body was thrown on a road in North Waziristan.
However, Hamid Mir says he neither has anything to do with such a conversation, nor he can even think of getting involved in such an affair. He has also denied the content of a statement, purported to have been issued by the Taliban, who denied this telephone conversation but at the same time blamed the telephone company PTCL for illegally recording telephones of its subscribers.
In fact, talking to Dawn in his office on Tuesday Hamid Mir claimed that the entire tape recording and its uploading on the website was the work of IB and that too at the behest of President Zardari and the government to malign him as, according to him, he has been a bitter critic of President Zardari and others in his programmes.
Mr Mir claimed that the IB had used a special gadget through which they could change the voices. “They took my voice sample and changed it to look my voice through the special gadget,” he said. He warned that more such tapes involving some other journalists and politicians would surface in near future.
Mr Mir further claimed that he had been informed about this purported tape before time by Interior Minister Rehman Malik. “The interior minister took me to his Parliament House chamber on Thursday and told me that an audio tape had been prepared to implicate me in some terrorism-related issue,” he said, adding the minister also told him that his life was in danger. “The minister even advised me to keep some guards with me,” he said.
Mr Mir claimed that the audio tape was first released on a blog being run by some people belonging to the ruling PPP.
In the tape, Mr Mir is purportedly heard asking an unknown Taliban member to interrogate Khalid Khwaja over his links with the CIA and his role in the Lal Masjid siege. The journalist also narrates some incidents to prove that Khalid Khwaja was a CIA agent. In the conversation, Mr Mir tells the unknown person that Khalid Khwaja had arranged his meeting with an alleged CIA man Mansoor Ijaz in Islamabad. Similarly, Mr Mir has also narrated an incident as to how on the request of Khalid Khwaja he arranged a meeting of the widow of an alleged Al Qaeda man, Abdul Rehman ‘al-Kennedy’, with her son in the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalpindi, and that later it was revealed that the woman was a Canadian national and also a CIA agent.
When asked about the contents of the controversial tape, Mr Mir said that in the recent past he had talked about Khalid Khwaja in detail on telephone only with an office-bearer of the PPP. He, however, denied that he had had any meeting with Mansoor Ijaz in Pakistan. He, however, confirmed the other part of the tape and admitted that he had “arranged a meeting of a woman with her son at the CMH on the request of Khalid Khwaja.” But, he said, later he came to know that one of the sons of the woman living in the US was working for the CIA and not that woman as claimed in the audio tape.
Mr Mir said he had met Mansoor Ijaz only once in New York in 1995 where he had gone as part of the delegation of the then prime minister Benazir Bhutto. “Mansoor Ijaz had come to see Ms Bhutto, but instead he met Asif Zardari,” he said.
When contacted, president of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) Pervez Shaukat refused to comment on the issue, saying they would come out with some statement in the next few days after holding consultations with other office-bearers.
**Legal Notice **
Meanwhile, Hamid Mir has served a legal notice on Publisher of Daily Times Salman Taseer who also happens to be the Governor of Punjab, Editor Rashid Rehman and Staff Reporter and Chief Executive Officer Business Plus Mian Ehsanul Haq demanding to pay general damages of Rs250 million as a compensation for allegedly damaging his reputation, along with a written apology within 14 days that should also be published in the newspaper in a similar manner and prominence as the alleged defamatory report was published.
“Our client vehemently denies the conversation made in the alleged communication as fabricated and concocted one,” the legal notice served by Advocate Assad Ullah Jaral on behalf of Hamid Mir said for publishing, what he claimed to be a libellous report titled: “Hamid Mir’s terrifying indiscretions,” along with transcript of alleged communication in the newspaper on May 10, 2010.
Besides on May 17, 2010, a private channel Business Plus also aired the same ‘negative propaganda’ against Mr Mir, the notice said, adding the act of defamation in the television programme and news bulletin was deliberate.

Perhaps you dont know much about the ABCs or workings of the judicial system, or maybe you are still bitter about the lashing Mushy got at the hands of the Judiciary Movement but anyways:

i) The courts job is to pass a judgment fairly, after the judgment is passed the ability to carry out the punishment isn't something they have to perform. You mentioned Swiss Accounts, are you forgetting that Zardari was convicted by a Swiss Court? Are you forgetting the deal b/w Zardari and Musharraf? Point is, there are higher powers preventing the orders of the courts to be followed. I am waiting till the SC brings in the Armed Forces to implement whats needed. Phir mazah aye ga
