can i give donation for blood when i am fasting?

You better do it after iftar, If not extremely urgent !

Nope. Far as i know bleeding or even vomiting voids the fast.

So if you get a paper cut or something your fast is over?

Any evidence for this?

plus they require you to eat and drink loads of liquids before and after donating blood

i dont see any problem in it....there is no ruling in Quran or Hadith that says thet fast is broken by donating blood...and moreover, the scholars have also cleared it in their fatwas...

Having a blood sample taken does not break the fast and is permissible because it is something that is needed. (Fataawa al-Da’wah: Ibn Baaz, no. 979).

I think this answer should be sufficient!

^ That answer is different to your situation i think. It says, "because it is something that is needed, i.e. the individual may not have any choice but to give a blood sample for medical reasons etc. Whereas you are voluntarily giving blood. It is not the same.

^ p.s. Also have a look at the full answer in which it says, “With regard to taking a large amount of blood from a fasting person in order to donate it to a person who needs it, for example, then if a large amount of blood is taken which has the same effect on the body as cupping, this does break the fast.”

From a health standpoint, you're dehydrated whilst fasting anyway. Volunteering to have additional liquid extracted from your body doesn't exactly seem to be the best thing to do .... you should wait until after Ramadan, really.

hmmm...so where is it written in Quran or Hadith that extracting liquid from the body breaks the fast???

and gupguppy, so u are saying that helping a fellow muslim brother by donating blodd will break the fast...so in that case let him die...and willl that be a better thing to do...i dont think that it will break the fast...

Did you read the above link? It said, “… it is not permissible for anyone to donate a large amount of blood to anyone, unless the person who is to receive that blood is in dire need and cannot wait…

But if you want another opinion…

SOmehow I doubt that in 600 AD, doctors were extracting blood from people's bodies. May be that is why you won't find an ayat or hadeeth directly addressing this issue. You will have to rely on modern day scholars or use your own deduction skills based on Islamic fiqh.

Of course they were. Haven't you heard of cupping (hijamah)?
