Does anyone know of any natural remedies for blood clots? My sister has been having blood clotting problems for about 2 years now… And so far none of the medications that she’s been on has helped. She started off with only one (fairly large) clot close to her liver but a few months into the treatment she developed a second (smaller) one. The doctors suspect that the clotting (possibly) was a side effect/result of the fertility treatments that she was under at the time.. However, what confuses us is the mere fact that a second clot was found MONTHS after the diagnosis & ongoing treatment of the first one.
She is 33 and is more than ready to start a family but because of the clotting problems & the meds that she’s on we’ve been told that getting pregnant is entirely out of the question at this point. It breaks my heart to see her struggle with having to choose between her health and having a baby.
That's sad,Haven't the doctors diagnosed why she's getting them?apart from the possible side effect of the treatment.
Drugs should help with resolving clots..Should get herself checked else where too,detailed blood profiles etc.There can be many reasons for these clots,quiet dangerous too.So should go for acccurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Thank you for the prayers. Awfully sweet of you! She actually did go to a different country to get a second opinion... and was pretty much told the same thing. All of the doctors that she's consulted with have only been able to speculate that the 'hormone therapy' may have caused the clotting (Portal vein thrombosis)... And because of the rarity of her condition (clotting in the stomach area) none of the doctors have been able to give us any definite answers as far as both the cause & treatments are concerned. She was put on Comodin after the initial diagnosis but just months later, when hospitalized for the second time because of the unchanging symptoms, the doctors realized that another clot had formed just a couple of inches away from the first one. (We are not sure if it is the lack of attention/concern on her physicians' part OR God's will but ever since her first hospital visit, she has had to deal with a string of other unrelated health complications - contracted C.deficile while at the hospital, suffering from extremely low blood platelet count & last month had to go through a minor esophagus surgery.)
As for her plans of starting a family... that has definitely had to be put on hold for now. She's been told that she can try for a baby if she really wants to but needs to understand that the pregnancy/hormonal changes would further complicate her already acutely vulnerable condition. :-(
If there are any doctors or homeopathists on GS, could you guys please let me know if there is anything aside from the usual treatment options that we should be looking into.
the condition itself is generally not life threatening but it could lead to other conditions being contracted..was the first clot close to the liver ? and was the second one close to liver as well ? in ur first post you wrote it was near the liver and in your second post its written clotting in the stomach area ..did the doctor's diagnose any liver disease ? because usually people with liver disease are more susceptible to clotting in tht area and then clots travel and could get lodged anywhere in the body...
did your sister check her cholesterol levels .. ? or is there any family history of clotting? am sure she must have gone through all thetests , why are the dr's still not able to diagnose the problem which is causing the clotting..
did she get her blood tests to exclude viral hepatitis B and hepatitis C , and to exclude chronic liver diseases such as autoimmune hepatitis n primary biliary cirrhosis and ultra sounds and ct scan ?
did the doctor's tell you anything about Budd Chiari syndrome?i hope its not that because uve written tht she's been through unrelated health compliction because of the clots .... its only because the clots might be damaging the liver and the blood vessles that support it .. am just askin all this to make sure uve done all these tests and in case u havent thn u should
loads and loads of prayer's for your sister welll health .. please keep visiting the dr's regularly and tell thm to all tests .. i truly hope and pray that ALLAH gives her shifa and patience to go through this difficult time of her lifeee .. inshaALLAH she'll be well soon .. lotsa dua's
i hv read many times about** garlic** for its qualities to prevent or cure blood clotting along with many others benefits…,if u dnt mind search for it on the net n suggest ur sis to eat a clove daily or after 1 or 2 days…
