I am unfortunate enough to know someone who is very very sick and swaying between life and death. She has blood cancer, diabetes and hepatitis C. For the past few weeks she was hospitalized because she’s just getting worse and worse, bleeding too much and not feeling well.. and what I know of her situation is that the main problem right now is with platelets. She’s been getting blood transfusions and platelet transfusions and after everything they say her platelet count is less than half of what the average person should have. Aunty is hospital-phobic and just seemed to be getting worse and worse while admitted as opposed to being home; basically giving up on life in her mind.
Just yesterday she signed herself AMA from the hospital. She refuses to go back for further treatment.
The doctors are starting to give up on her also.
My question is.. is this stuff really that hard to treat? She’s been sick for a very long time and now it just seems like the beginning of the end… we’re all praying for a miracle to happen. What are the chances of her survival if she doesnt go for treatment? How likely is she to recover completely after treatment?
Does anyone know of someone who had blood cancer and survived it?
Beyshak ALLAH SHAFI hey
May He grant recovery to your aunty Insha Allah Ameen
If she could or someone else would recite Ya Salamu and Ya Hafizu for her, it would benefit her Insha Allah
1- Type of blood cancer
2- Treatment received so far
3- Which specialist treated
4-Has bone marrow transplant (BMT) discussed or considered?
5- For BMT right donor is needed. Its a rather long course but can 'cure' some cancers.
Off course there are certain type of blood cancers which are treatable and cured.
The blood cancer disease is rapidly increasing all around the world as in bone marrow cancer white blood cells increases and red blood cells decreases which deteriorate patient health condition.
