I think it depends. We have some relatives who we r very close to and some who we haven't seen/spoken to for yrs....and some of our friends r definately more closer to us and will be there for us any time, day or nite, more than our cousins wud be. And i don't think u can "choose" ur relative over ur friend, or vice versa. Each have their own place. Doesn't matter where a person is in the world, or if that person is ur blood or not. It's the bond between u that counts.
