UNITED NATIONS: Hans Blix will stand down as chief UN weapons inspector when his contract runs out in June, his spokesman said Friday.

Hopefully Iraq will keep its chair on the committee on disarmament so the UN can continue to provide valuable and respected leadership in this area.
