UNITED NATIONS (CNN) – Chief U.N. weapons inspector Hans Blix said Thursday he has so far seen no evidence of a promised increase in Iraqi cooperation and that he is still considering Baghdad’s offer to return for further discussions on disarmament.
Iraq asked Blix and International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei to return to Baghdad before February 10 to discuss issues the inspectors raised Monday before the U.N. Security Council. Blix and ElBaradei are scheduled to report again to the Security Council February 14.
Blix told the council Monday that Iraq has not fully accounted for its stocks of chemical and biological weapons and has not fully accepted its obligation to disarm under U.N. Resolution 1441.

This sounds like a country that is cooperating.

Sounds more like reacting to me but what with? more run arounds,or disarmement, that is the only option they have left i think, just asking the inspectors back into the country isn`t going to cut it anymore, they need to ask the inspectors in to inspect them disarming, not running around like headless chickens.

The inspectors have done, and are currently doing, the above. They have gone in with unannounced inspections. They have been given lists of stockpiles of weapons. They have even been allowed into a palace. Remember how very few actually believed that Iraq would allow inspectors into the country in the first place? Well, they did. Then there was the hype (courtesy of the US admin.) that Iraq would never agree to unannounced inspections. They did. Then there was the scuffle over the palaces - only to end with Iraq's opening its palace doors to the inspectors. What next ? jeez after 12 years, what else will we demand of them that we are unwilling to demand of other countries in the region.
