Blind Justice vs Logical Justice

Re: Blind Justice vs Logical Justice

Bhai saab, if PPP government had performed on economic fronts.. GHQ/Judiciary/Opposition would not threaten them the way they are now. This government is the most pathetic performer as far as the economic interest of our country are concerned.. mainly due to corruption of the people in power. These guys have looted the state dry.. have not installed any audit/accountability process to facilitate their loot. They take votes from the poor people to safe guard their livelihood/economic interest.. and these very people are suffering the most due to incompetency and corruption. Just to give you some highlights of the past 4 odd years:

  1. Government is subsidizing gas to some 1,000 odd captive plant owners of large scale industry. This richest segment of our country is getting a direct subsidy of US 5.2 billion (488 billion rupees). The uninterrupted electricity to these captive power owners costs less than Rs 5/ per unit while a tailor running his shop is paying Rs. 15 for two hours of electricity he gets after 22 hours of load shedding..

  2. Fertilizer factory owners are getting a subsidy of around 500 billion rupees in the form of cheap gas while the poor farmer is getting fertilizer at international import substitution prices. The owners of fertilizer factories are some of the richest people in Pakistan.. and rumors are some fertilizer factories had been paying up to 2 billion rupees per annum to the deposed Prime Minister Gillani.

  3. State Enterprises are losing up to 400 billion rupees per annum. Just PIA losses have increased from 20 billion rupees per annum to 120 billion rupees per annum in past 4 years. Steel Mills, Railways and other State Enterprises are run by personal cronies have have looted them dry costing the tax payers a fortune.

  4. Diesel which used to be subsidized and was selling for Rs 38/ per liter in 2007 (Cost was around Rs 45 in 2007) is now selling for 104 rupees including about Rs. 35/ tax per liter. Mind you diesel directly affects a common man as it is the main logistical cost for almost every consumable commodity and is the single largest input for agriculture today.. In the past 4 years majority of the subsidies have benefitted the top 1,000 people in the country which were paid by taxes from 180 million people.

  5. While the country is suffering from un precedented power shortages up to 22 hours per day rendering millions as jobless.. the allocation of gas for power generation through IPPs (which was the highest declared priority of the present government) has come down from 47% to 27%. The same gas at dirt low prices is diverted to Captive/CNG/Fertilizer sector to make these rich people extra ordinary rich at the expense of a common tailor-small industrialist-work shop owner-carpenter etc etc who are the biggest employer in this country. It is estimated that appox. 5 million people have lost their jobs due to these engineered power shortages.

  6. RPP scam has costed the country around 500 billion rupees. Presently we are taking less than 50 MWs of electricity from these RPPs at an average rate of Rs 70/ per unit from these IPPs..

I can continue this list with at least 50 points which are coming in my mind at this moment only. These few points are to illustrate how this government was anti people. The bottom line is a common person does not understand the nitty gritty of organized judicial system. They just understand that due to the mismanagement of the economy by this so called elected government.. their lives have become miserable.

They don’t mind if GHQ or Judiciary helps them get rid of this “calamity” which has hit them in the name of “democracy”.. I really wonder what would have happened to this unfortunate country if these people were given a freer license to loot..!!!
