What kind of reaction can you get from bleach? I’ve never bleached before, but I think I need it now, so I’m wondering how I should try it out without doing damage to my skin/face… also, how safe is it to use bleach on your chest and tummy?
Re: Bleach
Why would you want to bleach those areas? If your hair's that bad how about laser or something?
Re: Bleach
Bleach is good for *fine *hair. It makes them look invisable, I wudnt recommend it if you have dark brown/black hair. It might turn ginger....
Dont leave it on too long because you will get a rash/red bumps.
Do a skin test b4 hand, and leave it on for no longer than 15 mins.
Its perfectly safe to use it on your tummy and chest area. But no longer than 15mins. Or it will burn you. So be careful.

brides to be who have very light hair on their chest, back etc. would rather bleach that hair than wax b/c it's painful or get laser hair removal b/c it's expensive. i think i might do the same.
Re: Bleach
I have the blackest of black hair and my hair doesn't turn ginger.... u just might have to leave it on for a minute or two more to achieve the same bleaching effect if you have dark hair. Thats it. Do a patch test to see what timing works best for you :)
Re: Bleach
i'm guessing from your post that you only want to try it out on your tummy and chest first as opposed to trying it on your face the first time to see what kind of reaction you have from bleach???
It's completely safe..... just read an follow the directions and you should be fine.
If you have sensitive skin - the brand Jolen also has "bleach for sensitive skin".
Re: Bleach
Thank you guys!
@mama ki dua: well, laser isn't cheap, you know! :)
@Marwah: true, that's one of the reasons why I was asking...
@PunjabiRose: I was curious about the tummy and chest regions because a friend of mine said it was perfectly safe, and I didn't really believe her... and thinking about tummy waxing just freaks me out, so I thought this was the best place to ask. :D
Re: Bleach
^ oooh ok. Understood! my friend bleaches her tummy for the same reason that waxing freaks her out. She has had nooooo problems at all and has been doing it for years. Hope this gives you more tasaali! :D
Re: Bleach
It really does! Thanks! :D
Re: Bleach
You Laser stomach hair anyway, it's too fine (even if it's considered thicker than most people's). I would never recommend waxing it either.
Hair bleaching is perfectly safe as long as your skin doesn't react. And if the mixture is correct, it will never turn hairs orange, even if they are black beforehand (for this reason, i don't like jolen). There is no problem leaving it on for more than 15mins (darker hairs can need much longer) as long as your skin doesn't seem irritated by it (doesn't feel tingly or starting to go red).
Re: Bleach
Oh ok, i always thought it went ginger because i've seen alot of women with ginger sideburns.. also my friend bleaches and hers jus goes ginger. Maybe she needs to leave it on longer then..
Re: Bleach
Her bleach mixture is either not correct (jolen and similar products are hard to mix, best to use ones that are 2 creams that you mix 1:1) OR the hair is too thick.
For bleaching, the hair can be really dark but it has to be fine for good results.
Suggest her to get electrolysis on her sideburns. She can look in the BIAE directory for a registered one near her. If her sideburn hairs are that thick, it’s better that she does something permanent rather than resorting to waxing or threading.
Re: Bleach
^ Shes very hairy indeed, I think she has that problem sorry i dont know what its called tbh. But she has thick coarse hair all over her body. I think she has had some treatment. But im not too sure wether shes carrying on with it.
I use 2 creams and its so much better than jolen.
