just a quick question…i have little facial hair on the face other than upper lip…i dont want to wax it becuase just dont want to get in the habbit of removing hair from there and nor want to make it really obvious. i did try and go for laser but the specialist said it wouldnt work on me as i have little and fine hair!
so in ur experience is bleaching good? or does it make the hair worse?
mizz khan, give bleaching a go. if you don't like it, after a few weeks it will be back to normal. and unlike any other method the hair structure will remain unchanged.
i have fair skin and have been bleaching for years. it looks way, way better than before. i have quite a bit of hair too so have been having electrolysis. if you can find a good electrologist, can afford it and want it permanently gone, it's a great option.
my cousin is a similar skin tone to me and her face is more or less hairless but she has a little on her upper lip and sideburn area; it's very fine. she was thinking of waxing some weeks before her wedding. i persuaded her to try bleaching first. she was amazed, since she only had a bit of hair it didn't show up at all after bleaching.
Bleach is okay as far as you don't leave it for an hour or so.. I think 15 mins works good for me. I don't have all the shiny gold hair and it does what I want it to do. So don't leave it forever. Take it off in 15 mins or somethin. Don't go too far up in your hairline or your sideburns. Bleach just the facial hair not the one on your head.. People do that that's why they start showing gold shiny weird looking hair.
stoppit does electorysis work? and gets rid of hair permanantly? to be honest im getting married next year inshallah and thats why its concerning me so much now!!!
it is visible but its not that bad ....i just dont comfortable with it
i heard with bleaching you have more hair growth is that correct?
No its a MYTH about that more hair growth. Blah
and yeah totally fair skin tone would result in bleaching. You'll see the difference.. plus you have a year before you get married.. try bleaching .. don't like it.. don't do it next time. Just try!
Like Spiral said, it's a myth. Virtually all women get increased facial hair growth as they become older and often it's wrongly attributed to bleaching. It does not effect the follicle and cannot therefore change the structure or growth of hair, unless you are using some weird desi bleach with steroids.
I used to use Jolen but have been using Boots hair lightener for a long time now. I prefer it as it's much easier to mix and therefore get the amounts right and therefore better result.
How long you have to leave it on depends on the sensitivity of your skin and how persistent your hair is. I have to leave it on for about 45mins lol but I don't slap it on.
Electrolysis is the ONLY truly permanent hair removal solution that can work on all types of hair structures and skin types. However, it greatly depends on the skill of the electrologist and unfortunately most in the UK are cowboys who don't have a clue as to what good electrolysis is. It's not as simple as going to your local beauty salon that offer electrolysis.
It is also somewhat time consuming but if you have 1 year and not too much hair, you should be able to get it done. In fact, right from when you start you will be one your way. If you can put in the time, most of the hair will be cleared in the first month or two (depends how much you have), after that you just need to go as and when you catch any regrowth.
You do need to do your research so that you know you are getting good treatment and when to run if you think the electrologist may be damaging your skin.
If you're in or around London and want to consider it, I can give you some recommendations of BIAE registered electrologists.
p.s. my electrologist is a star. i recently recommended her to a girl on another forum who is very happy. she was very hesitant in general and also because she wears hijab/abaya. but my electrologist is very friendly, made her feel at ease and worked without asking her to remove her hijab.
lolz...may be you're right.... but doesn't bleach ruin your skin?
Maybe desi bleaches as they bleach the skin too. What you can buy in boots (Jolen, boots own brand etc) don't.
I've been doing it for 9 years and m'A my skin looks really good. Mostly coz of my genes (I still look 20 lol) but the bleach certainly hasn't adversely effected my skin.
Ok, it may show up when bright sunlight is hitting it directly but at least you can't see it in pics and it barely shows up in normal lighting. Compared to before, I'd take the bleach any day.
I used to thread my upper lip for the longest time .and always broke out ..argh, but i figured i had no choice but to deal with it cause i didnt want to live with the hair. Then I tried bleaching it..which works..sure you can't see the hair anymore..but upclose it looked so obvious. Specially if you wear foundation, it will bring out the "fluffiness" ..all i can is gross It may sound like i have crazy upper lip hair but i don't..atleast i don't think i do :/] . I was looking for something else..so i came across this epicare thing..it's pretty much a spring that grabs your hair and pulls it out...you can watch a few tutorials on it on ylutube. I got mine online but i heard that if you go to korean/ chinese stores they have them for way cheaper like $7.00 whereas online you end up $20.00 with shipping...if you can find it at a store near you..check it out. It didn't cause any breakouts so far but then again i'v only used it twice..maybe i ll do a review on it once i have used it for about a month or so. hope that helps!
